no unless its a gov.t job they only look for"convictions"!even then they might just run a criminal check again "convictions"all kids get into fights and squabbles, naturally the blue gets involved,if it was serious,he would have been arrested and charged.don't worry its only probably for a young persons job and employers see worse all the time, your kid is probably a good egg. so in other words "lighten up ma" no disrespect intended.

My brother had the same thing and he just got a great job travelling the country and getting paid an outragous amount. The arrest will most likely show but depending on what he goes into some won't care. Good Luck to your son. And as long as he stays out of trouble from now on, he'll be fine.

If it does beside it will have the judgement and it will say nullified, acquitted, dismissed. I don't know about your state, but when you get a background check it will read off charge, jurisdiction, judgement, sentence if any and fines if any across the page, and classification of offense. Maybe not in that order though.
And no, I don't feel you are a bad mother, things happen.

When i worked HR, the background checks showed arrests as well as the outcome, whether it be a conviction or nullification. It may depend on the type of background check they do. Try buying one yourself, and see what pulls up.

Employers will often ask about arrest and conviction records of applicants. Your son must complete the forms honestly ... if they ask about arrests...the answer is yes
if they ask about convictions ... the answer is no
if they want details... provide them... its an integrity thing and that will be what the employer will want, integrity and truth
PS... getting a copy of the nullification and keeping it, is also a good idea... that way, he has "proof" should he be required to produce it

It depends. Some background checks can find out if you've ever been arrested and some only check to see if you've been convicted.
Even if they find that he's been arrested, that doesn't necessarily make him ineligible to work for them. They'll probably dig a little deeper to find out what kind of person he is. It's all about risk management.

A misdemeanor won't necessarily cost him a job. Especially assault...my fiance was charged with burglary and filing a false police report. They may knock it down to a misdemeanor, but it will definitely affect any job apps he fills out. no one is going to want to hire someone who was even accused of burglary for a job where money is even remotely involved.

they will ask for a character certificate. You may get one from a some society or club. Also you must get some doctor help in your sons case so that he does not do it again. Also ask him to join some meditaion and art of living course that will help in controllig his temper. Some meditaion technique which I have tried is very helpful like http://www.dhamma.org they give a ten days course and ask you son to do this and he will never have this type of misbehaiour problems in life again and he will do very good in life.

it depends. If charges were dropped because of failure of a witness to show up at trial than it will still be there on his record. But if he was found not guilty than that will be added to his record. It really depends on how the charges were dropped. If he was truly not guilty than contact the DA and ask.
