Who knows? If you think so, then it's fine. But also respect those who believe. This is tolerance. You would want them to tolerate your beliefs as well, right? Personally, I find most Religions to be a product of long tradition and a lot of contrivance, and have no real use for it anymore. But you have to respect people's choices.

I myself am an atheist. Whether the religious majority are fairytale believers or not, I can't say. I can, however, say that everyone has beliefs at some point in their lives, and at the end of their lives, I'd like to think that everyone finds the truth for themselves. I mean, I remember a time when I used to believe in Santa Clause!

Religion is not what's fake - everyone needs something to think, something to explain the otherwise unexplainable. I suppose that's what religion does.

If you really want to call something fake, religion might not have been the best word to use. Maybe, 'religious influence', now THAT I would agree with. You think religion is fake? No, but I'll tell you something that is - people who shove their beliefs down the proverbial throat of this country and are still able to associate themselves with God and goodness. That's what's fake.

I can't persecute a person for having their own opinions and ideas, much less call them fakes or 'fairytale believers', but the minute my rights are denied, what's fake is easily recognized.

No, the religions are not fairy tales, they are some sort of philosophies. The border between philosophy and religion is not sharp, as they go into each other. It could also be seen as poetry a help for answers people are asking for as there are a lot of things we know nothing about and possible will never know anything about. A wish for a better future to come and we can live on our hopes that makes life easier. Unfortunately, the religions have been used by mankind to kill one another tells our history. The Xristian religion is based on Greek thinking, and the Salvator seems to be very familiar to it as he sometimes uses the Greek philosophers word by word.

Why do you care? I think atheist people are the biggest hypocrites of all. They always get mad when people try to "convert" them, but the most proselytization I hear is from people saying "come on, there is no god or religion." And that IS proselytization because the belief that there is no god is still a belief. I think you should respect Christian, Jews, and Muslims and all other religions and stop acting like your belief is best.

Atheism is not a religion. It is the absents of religion.

I feel it takes a weak mind to believe in fairytale as an adult. Like a child that never grew up.

Makes me wonder how many of you good church people are going to come try to knock me off for my non belief.

This has to be the biggest scam known. It has been proven many times over. But you stupid (stupid means unable to learn) people just keep giving your money to rich scam artist.

I don't down you, but only feel sorry for you.

How sad.

Yeah, it's a fairy tale, where people are automatically forgiven of all their sins, and are entitled not only to go into eternal paradise after they die, but have acess to the power to heal diseases and rasie the dead and all kinds of cool stuff like that.
But who would want to believe that. personally, I'd rather stick with the idea that we all just fall and rot after 70 or so years. Yeah that's way better........

Didn't the Monkees do a song about "I'm A Fairytale Believer" or something like that anyway?

I think all religions are going to prove to be fake.

Atheism is a religion / belief. Why not include it in your question? If religion is fake, what makes disbelief real?
Evolution theory provides no more proof than the Creation theory.
As Charles Darwin once said "I love fools' experiments. I am always making them"

Good for you....you are fully allowed to believe whatever you want, just as I am allowed to believe whatever I want. That is what freedom is all about. If I want to believe in Unicorns and Fairies then I should be left to do so without someone mocking, judging or attacking me. Peace!
