Julius Caesar, that other "J.C.", the one with a real biography, attested by a vast number of independent sources, inscriptions, and archaeological objects from his own period. In other words, the historical evidence is not just from one book, a scripture assembled about 200 years after the people. Where did people today get the idea that the ancient world had no historians ... the the Jews failed to record the happening in their own community? Rabbi Hillel, a person who lived in the first century BCE, wrote "Do not do unto others what is hateful to yourself". I believe in that message and do honor those who live by it.

Frankly, I'm not sure that I have an answer to this question. But I at least have a thought to share. To you and me, Jesus my be the most well-known historical figure. But for me at least, I have to believe that growing up in a hugely Christian country in a small mid-western town inundated with churches had something to do with that. Does someone who grew up in another part of the world recognize the name Jesus as readily as I do? Who knows.

Well....my guess would be Adam & Eve or maybe Abraham or Noah.
Because they are OT figures, they have the benefit of All three monotheistic religions.
