I have found my mac with a new desk top the other day. Surprised to see all my mails etc., are missing.. However there was a file with an extn of .sparseimage is been saved which is of 8.8GB. I guess the solution would be to recorver from the extn of file... Can any body tell me how to go about recovering data on MAC OS with that kind of file extn.

PLEASE HELP ! IT URGENT! IMPORTANT!!!!!!

When you delete a user account on a Mac, it will allow you to set that account aside for transfer or whatever. It would be safe to go ahead and open the sparse image and recover your account, which will recover all your files.
