Trying to find an online merchant selling Drontal in 1 pack ($3.99 lowest I've seen) without requiring prescription from the vet.

I know a merchant that doesn't require prescription but only sells in 50 pack ($157), which is crazy since I only have two kittens.

Or if you bought it from a vet, how much do they usually charge? And can you buy it w/o the vet examining your cat? Because everytime I go, they charge me $50 just to see the animal for few seconds.

The above statement about it being against the law to depense medacation without a veterinarian prescription is true. If you find that someone is selling it...becareful because more than likely its a bogus product (there are lots of bogus frontline and heartgard floating around). Are the worms a reaccuring problem? If so put the kittens on Cat Heartgard...that will prevent intestinal worms.

Drontal is available as an OTC product in most of the world, notably Canada and Australia. There are websites where you can order it from these places. It's likely to be expensive, though.

In the US Bayer likes to pretend that Drontal is prescription only; in fact there's not a single indication of this on the product label. However, they sell only through veterinarians so it's effectively prescription only.

Both ingredients in Drontal - pyrantel and praziquantel - are readily available in OTC products.

Our Vet clinic will sell it to our clients if we have seen the animal in the past. ALL VETS are REQUIRED by law to only dispense meds to an animal that they have seen. Charge for Drontal goes by weight so a fat animal costs more. Call them and ask.

Just take the poor babies to the vet. They need to go anyhow. If you love them enough to deworm them, then you can love them enough to be taken to the vet. They need you to take them and care for them as if they were children. Besides, the vet will give one dose while you are there and there will be no need to follow up until the following year, and only if they worms come back.

vets can dispense it without seeing you and your pet if the pet has been seen by him or her recently. You can get it from drsfosterandsmith.com online. I don't think it is less then 3.99 however....but they sell bottles of 3 pills.

I have bought it online with no prescription. It is the generic brand but you can do it. Here is a place that gives you the option to choose from several stores.
