you always hear so much on the news about catholic priests molesting little boys and having relations with the nuns. how can someone be in a religious organization that doesn't go by bible principles. And they're allowing priests to remain in the church even though they're doing all that disgusting things. that is just outright disrespectful and sick. they are just hypocrites!!!

it's best not to generalize all of catholic priests as the same. i'm certainly not catholic myself, but i don't generalize people. i've learned that there is good and bad in all races, religions, etc.

The Catholic Church has been sweeping the sexual immorality of their clergy under the rug since the inception of the church around 300 AD.

They have corrupted the Word of God to the point that there is no longer any truth in their teachings.

The Catholics are deceived into believing they are going to heaven if they obey the teachings of the Catholic Church when, in reality, they are all hell bound.

Catholism is not the pathway to Heaven. It is the pathway to Hell.

The kids are taught that the Priest is Jesus on Earth. So to confess to the Priest and obey him is equivalent to confessing and obeying God Almighty in Heaven.

Then this pseudo Jesus, the Priest, molests the young boys. What does the Priest do to get the boys not to squeal? Does he threaten the boys with eternal damnation?

Then when the sexual molestation is made known the Bishop of the Diocese just sweeps it under the rug by moving the offending Priest to another Diocese in a different state. And if it gets to the Vatican the spineless Pope does nothing.

The Vatican says that the Church is suppose to deal with the sins of the clergy. Well, this is true. There is a scriptural basis for that position. There is also a scriptural basis for obeying the laws of the land as well. It is still a crime to molest children. That means that the offender should be turned into the police. But the Church ignores that Bibical teaching.

The Catholic clergy are a bunch of hypocrites. They apply Bibical principles when it is convient for them while ignoring them when it is not.

It is sad that people fall for that Godless, idolatrous religion.

Some Catholic priests have done this and it has been magnified in the media. I don't want to minimize the horror of their acts at all. These men deserve their just punishment.

However, there have been and are thousands and thousands of Catholic priests who are good, law-abiding men with a sincere belief in God and their religion and a sincere desire to devote their lives to God, to serve their parishioners and teach the word of God and the doctrines of their religion. These are good men, who give more to the world than they take from it.

In every group of people there are good and bad. Please...don't generalize all Catholic priests as child molesters. It is unfair.

And as for having relations with the nuns...that is also a gross generalization. I'm sure it has happened, but often these people realize that the religious vocation is not for them after all and they renounce themselves from their positions. Priests and nuns are human beings with natural human sexuality. It is inevitable that not all of them will be able to resist it.

This is why I, as a former Catholic, do not believe that abstinence should be a required way of life for those in the religious vocation.

Well personally I cant believe the RCs that come on here protecting their priests and saying it is OK as other people do it too! Oh well it must be OK for the priests then to rape children whist the nuns hold them little kids down when they struggle!!!
Did you know that under some of the nunneries in Spain, the bodies of little babies have been found wrapped in carpet, the RC church have hushed it up a lot and I'm sure all the Rcs here will say, "Oh well its not just our priests you know" thereby protecting their wicked and perverted priests whom they all put on pedestals.
These priests are prophets of Baal! Nothing more and nothing less. They claim to be able to make their Jesus do party tricks and become a piece of bread, and the people bow down and worship bread! and ultimately their depraved priests.
Revelation 17:5 calls the RC church THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATION OF THE EARTH.
Open you eyes Rcs and see what is happening!

They don't figure that God told those erring priests to do such dastarly deeds. Theyf put the bad actions at the feet of those priests who are gulty. Looked at, that way, it puts no onus on the Catholic church but on the mentally screwed up priests.
However---What if the Creator had good reason for having given priests freedom to disgrace themselves........so that other would-be Catholics would get away from that religion, and perhaps even ask for high guidance in light to discriminate, and know the truth when they hear it.?

I agree that all that stuff is bad. I'm not Catholic and I don't believe that the Pope is the voice of God for all Christians. But I also think that the news media likes to target certain things and make it seem as if the problem is more prevelant than it its. There are thousands of priests and probably less than 1% have these types of problems. Does that mean that the 1% shouldn't be stopped? NO! If a story hits big with viewers or readers, the media tends to find those stories to tell again and again. For instance, it seems like we have had a huge rash of mine accidents lately. But, I don't think mine accidents are happening at a higher rate than they use to, I think the media is just talking about it now and they weren't before.

Umm, excuse me but being a Catholic is more about believing the tenets of the church then being disappointed and disgusted by members of the clergy. Every true Catholic, would want their parish priest to be exposed if they were commiting these disgusting crimes. Also the church never condones these activities, and they do not just go on in the Catholic church. Sin is also rampant is other denominations with bible principles.

(A) Show me a group that "goes by religious principles". Seriously, you take one religious principle and give it to 50 different people and you'll end up with 50 different interpretations. HOWEVER, I think we all agree that molesting little boys is wrong.

(B) There's an idiot in every group. Jerry Fallewell? Sinead O'Conner? Woody from Cheers? Every group has a moron and the Catholic church is so big that they were lucky enough to get hundreds of them. And all of those morons decided to screw little boys. That doesn't mean the whole group had bad intentions. Or that even the leaders who made inappropriate decisions about how to handle the actions of those morons represent the morals of the group as a whole.

Not all priests molest kids and have sex with nuns. You are putting all of them in the same boat. Im sure there is a protestant preacher out there who has molested kids..but I dont put all protestants in the same boat as him. It seems like you have a religious beef with catholics. Why? I myself am not catholic..but why criticize them for their believes? This country was founded on the principle of the freedom of religion. In this country..you should be able to worship and coke can if you wanted to..and you should be able to do it in peace. People who attack other religions are insecure and have nothing else better to do.

I'm Catholic. Although I don't agree with what's been going on with the Catholic religion, believe me, they aren't the only ones. My x-husband used to say the same things about molestation charges. I looked up other cases of religious leaders molesting kids and such. There are plenty. It's just that the media has blown it way out of proportion. If only you knew what's going on with the Lutherans, Protestants, etc...

Catholic priests in other rites can be married such as those of the Alexandrian rite.

Not all priests and nuns are pedophiles just like not all Protestant churches exist to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Can we help if we have more faith in Catholicism than you have in your religion
