I like that; cloud paradise. Mary is a human example to live by other than the "perfect " son. Whom we can never, in mortal existence live like, only reach toward imitating before we crumble back into dust. The catholics are following a religion which for about 1900 years or so has adopted the figureheads of all who come to her. It was a way for the roman empire to ensure its prolonged rulership over the masses. This empire had rules not much different from the church. Mainly that you could have any god or religious practice that you wanted in private as long as you came and paid homage to Cesar on the first day of every week. The pope was "Dagon" (look up a picture). The queen of heaven; the mother of Nimrod.
Oh yeah, and Mary is dead. King Saul tried talkingf to dead people, David soon took over.

I guess this is why so many christian believers have a hard time swallowing the "catholic doctrine". Mary lost her virginity the moment Christ was born and had to go through the same "cleansing ritual" after giving birth as every other woman did of her era. Jesus called her "woman" when He grew up and at no time gave her any special treatment. The whole "Pope" thing is blasphemy - no where in the bible does it talk about ANY man being His representative on earth, but for Jesus. There is no mention of "pergatory", or any priest having the power to absolve sin, or "Hail Mary's" or baptism for babies...or half of the pagan rituals that these proffessing catholics perform. Funny thing is - it's the most populated church of the western world, with over 150 million supporters! Goes to show...

You need to get informed about Catholicism. Catholics think that Protestant churches are Christian why that doesnt work vice versa. dont ask me.

Any way catholics dont worship Mary or the Pope.

The pope is the descendant of Peter to whom Jesus said whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

The Pope guides the Church nothing more.

As for Mary. Have your ever asked a friend to pray for you? Well when Catholics ask for Mary's help. We ask her to pray on our behalf to God. We never put Mary in front of God because that would be idolatry.

We dont worship statues but the things they represent.

We can trace our priestly line to the disciples to whom Jesus gave the power to forgive sin.

And stop talking about roman catholics as if they were the only catholics. There are Armenian,Maronite, Alexandrian, Byzantine, etc. rites of the same Catholic Church who are led by the pope.

The Catholic church does not prohibit married priests. The Roman rite asks the priests to take a vow of celibacy so the priests have time for God. The Alexandrian Catholics have a married clergy I believe.

Having been a Roman Catholic for decades, I can tell you that your idea that we "worship" the Pope, or Mary is catastrophically wrong. Maybe today's feminist American Catholics have worship and adoration confused, or maybe they're trying to rewrite Catholicism, but I can guarantee you that we were taught NEVER to worship anyone but God / Jesus Christ. Period. And we don't worship the Pope. We respect and obey him (or true Roman Catholics do) as God's respresentative of His Church here on earth, but we NEVER WORSHIP anyone but God / Jesus Christ, or at least real Roman Catholics, which are the only real Catholics, do. God Bless you.

I dont know, its weird

Im sure it says in the Bible to worship God and only God.

So to bow down to a statue of Mary or worship the pope would be a sin, I guess

Mary was an amazing woman, and she did both birth and support Jesus, the Pope is a great spiritual leader and probably has much wisdom, but they are both human not God himself, so you are right, they are not worthy of our heavenly praise.

Agree %100. Kissing the hand of the Pope is a form of worship to me, crying at the sight of him, bowing, dressing him in golden robes. People thinking that he is needed for us to be closer to God...I could go on and on about how wrong all of it is. I think it would upset God more then please Him...the idea that a man is trying to be as holy as God and all.

The same way they can worship a magical invisible man who lives in a fanciful cloud-paradise.
