Pual states the Jesus was the first to be resurrected. Then later states that to die is to be present with Christ. So I believe that all of the people in paradise (Abrahams bosom) where resurrected after Jesus and most of assended to Heaven with Him. I also believe that paradise where the great gulf separated lazarus from the rich man is where people that die with out Christ are waiting judgement. Not hell like some think. Hell is yet to come it where satan will be held during the Millennial reign of Christ. Then after the Judgement hell and the place in paridise will be cast in to the lake of fire.

Good question about why not mentioned. Yes it did. All the righteous persons from Adam through that time were resurrected at that time. The unrighteous were left for a later time. At www.lds.org you can find out about the appearance of John the Baptist (beheaded) as a resurrected being appearing to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry on May 15, 1829 in Pennsylvania. There were other resurrected persons came and restored priesthood authority in June of that year and at later times in Ohio.
For more information on the return of resurrected persons, go to www.lds.org. Ask for a copy of the Book of Mormon - Another Witness of Jesus Christ and then you can get answers to this question also.

The methodology behind this question is flawed.
1. If Matthew mentions something and John,Luke,Mark do not, that is not evidence that the event did not happen.
2. The event did have an impact among the disciples -- that is why Matthew mentions this.
Cordially,
John

That is one of those "difficult" passages from the Bible. I characterize it in that way for the reasons you mentioned and because we can only guess at what God's purpose was when this was going on. The best explanation I can give is that God used this as a sign and a symbol to show that Jesus is the true Messiah and that all of those who had been looking forward to His coming had now been brought out of Sheol, the place of the dead, and where now with Him in Heaven.
Jesus described Sheol, or as it is in the Greek "Hades" in the story He told about the rich man and Lazarus. Apparently there was one section that He called "Abraham's bosom" where the blessed dead waited in peace for the Messiah while those who had trusted in their riches and their own self righteousness await the final judgment in agony.

That is a good question. If we, as Christians, are going to claim belief in the rest of this story, then we need to be able to provide an explanation for this. I don't know if Matthew was writing metaphorically or not, but certainly, this is a question that requires something more than a quick two-liner. Thank you for asking it!

wasn't it that Christ went to hell and set the Saints of old free and they went to the holy city? I would assume that was the city where Christ dwells now, because there certainly isn't any holy city on Earth that I know of. Paradise?

Yes, we know quite a bit about them. There are ancient texts that list their names, birth dates, height, weight, social security number, political party affiliation, profession, race, creed, national origin. You can look them up in these ancient texts but they were denounced at the Council of Nicaea and are heretical.
The Bible also says in Exodus 22:18 "Thou shalt not permit a witch to live."
For a lot of other superstitious, contradictory, irrational, illogical, nonsense, read the whole book in the version of your choice.
