You are a liar! That is not what the bible says.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster, I, the Lord, do all these things.

Before you start to make fun of us Christians, make sure that you have the right words to the verse.

You are correct. There are several places in the Old Testament where God claims responsibility for creating evil.

There are several ways of answering this question, and I offer one brief response to what is actually the subject of many books that have been written.

God is not a deterministic "puppeteer" God. The human being was created to have choice, some degree of freedom, curiosity and creativity...and the possibility of learning, amassing wisdom and knowledge and discovering and implement new ideas and innovation --perhaps even co-creator-ship of the universe, as some theologians believe. In order for this to be possible there must also be the potentiality for wrong-doing, error, suffering, ignorance, cause and effect and random, catastrophic events, including death.

At least that seems to be how it works in this form of our existence. In other dimensions or in whatever form an afterlife may take, things may work quite a bit differently.

You might look at complexity theory for an understanding of how the universe seems to operate, and from a theological perspective, the process theologians have a helpful way of envisioning the universe as emerging and moving forward towards higher forms of existence.

Because God creates evil it doesn't mean that he is evil. God is all good but he is also a righteous God who demands justice. God creates evil to punish the wicked. also it says in 1 John, "God is light and in him is no darkness at all," (1 John 1:5b).
There is no darkness in God, God uses evil to punish the wicked.
God is all good, (Ezekiel 18:23) "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? Also John 3.16, "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God is nothing but good and love and uses evil to render justice. God Bless.

I think it all goes back to the whole idea of.. "the sweet would never be as sweet without the bitter." If everything was perfect we would never learn or appreciate anything in life. I think maybe God created evil not only to test us but to make us stronger spiritually, no matter how cheezy that sounds. Evil not only hurts, but it can bring people together, and sometimes creates in people a sympathy and/or love that wouldn't normally be there. It's a way to bring us closer to God, to learn to trust in Him, and to love Him more as he helps us get through evil times or events...

isaiah 45 5-7 " I am the Lord, there is no other god.
i have equipped you for battle, hough you don't even know me,
so all the world from east to west will know there is no other god.
i am the Lord, and there is no other.
i create the light and make the darkness. i send good times and bad times. I , the Lord am the one who does these things."

reading your question is amusing if one continues to read this scripture. if i may...
isaiah 45 9 " what sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator! does a clay pot argue with its maker? "

hmmmmm...

God created all thing in the spirit before he created them temporally, so there fore Satan is also one of his sons. He gave Satan free will but Satan wanted to bring everyone back to paradise and not one soul would be lost Satan rebelled and for doing so was cast from the presence of God. That is where evil started as many angels followed the devil and became demons to lead man away by his free agency into mortal captivity. That is why God sent his only begotten Son in the flesh to atone for all the transgressions of all mankind past, present and future. So yes God did create Satan but Satan is to blame for creating evil.

The Lord God created both light and dark and gave His children free will to decide their lives. I don't know how to express myself always, but God is good.

How would one define "good" if there were not an "evil" to help balance the equation. God also created free will. How could people make choices if there were only option?

ready for Einstein's great debates?

what is cold? absence of heat.
what is darkness? absence if light.
what is evil. absence of God
You can;t measure cold, only the amount of heat.
you can't measure darkness, only the amount of light.
One only survives when the other is not there. Even a darkened room will be no more when light is applied.
Hence, where God isn't, evil can "exist." But where God is, evil cannot exist.
