I'll be glad I have my Honda Civic and my motorcycle.

As to moving to other countries; how's that going to help ? A lot of them have been paying higher prices for years.Their governments have been trying to tax people out of using cars. It's only worked somewhat. I remember visiting Israel over 20 years ago, and figuring out the price on the pumps, and it was close to $5 a gallon back THEN ! They were pretty much entirely dependent on 'foreign oil' and all the nearby foreigners were avowed enemies. We at least do have some of our own resources. But unless there is some fantastic breakthrough, all the 'alternative fuel sources' still cost more than petroleum, which is why we're still using it. If everyone tried to switch to cooking oil ( which some people have done ) the price of that would go through the roof, since there isn't that much supply. Solar cells sound great, till you look into the cost, and the amount of pollution created while making them. Then they make nuclear plants seem warm and fuzzy. There just ain't no free lunch !

I will continue to drive my Hybrid Escape the 3 1/2 miles to work, every day & then go home & get up the next day & do the same. Only I will be driving more responsibly to conserve fuel. I usually drive it like I just stole it, because I'm always in a hurry to get to work . I love my job . Oh by the way there are already 5 million vehicles on the road that can run on E85, ethanol fuel. The hard part is finding stations that offer it

The way I see it, it's just like the cigarette question. Lots of people said they would quit when the price per pack went over two dollars. People are still smoking and the price is well over two dollars. Same thing with gas. The ones who can afford it will still buy the brand name and the ones who can't will go generic.

I will ride my bike everywhere, and if I have to go far use mass transit and Amtrack instead of air travel. The country as a whole will go insane and the economy would see it's worst drop since the Great Depression.

I'll ride my bike to school, which is located in a bad part of Flint, right across from the street where a five-year old girl was shot. I blame that and the horrible conditions of Flint on those bigwigs, from car company presidents to oil big shots.

We, all of us, will do what the rest of the world has done for years--get used to it and keep on driving!

I remember (1970) paying 24.9 cents per gallon for 101 octane! Try and find 101 octane at any price now!

I will rejoice in the fact that people will be forced to conserve more, and ride more bicycles.

Oh the woman in Flint who blames crime on big oil and big business. I can only shake my head in wonder.
As if the people themselves aren't responsible for their
own actions. It's sad the crap that's circulating around
in some people's heads.

That's what legs are for, right? Gas prices are insane! We need to all switch over to alternative fuel sooner or later. And the sooner, the better!!

I could care less I don't have a car so it could go up to 50 dollars a gallonand I wouldn't care. My feet don't require gas.

Watch the national economy swing further into a stagflationary episode. Drive less, too.
