Thick toasted bread,three slices, white or wheat, touch of green leaf lettuce, bacon, swiss and / or American cheese, turkey, ham... one slice tomato, and a little bit of mayo spread on one of the slices of bread... served with crispy chips and a good pickle!
To me, that's the traditional -- not too crazy about the hot club sandwiches.
Oh, and you can't forget the cool toothpicks with the ribbons on the end, one in each of the 4 triangles of the sandwich.
Yum... must go eat now!

There's a restaurant in Chicago called Gullivers that makes a "to-die-for" Veggie Club.
Sliced avocado
Sliced meaty tomato
Sliced mushrooms (lightly sauteed)
2 slices of Provolone or Muenster cheese
Very thin slice of onion
Sprouts
3 slices of toast
Mayo
Assemble the club using the mayo as "glue" to hold it together. Wrap in aluminum foil to keep it warm and hold it in place while you're eating it. It's just phenomenal.

On freshly sliced and toasted whole wheat bread.

use 3 slices of bread n put mayonnaise on both side of one slice n mayonnaise on 1 side of the other 2 slices.then add turkey,ham,roast beef,cheese,lettuce,tomato.then put the slice of bread that has mayo on both sides.then add bacon.put last single slice on top...serve with valasic pickles n chips ot fries.this is both classic n traditional
