JOSIAH is an Anglicized version of the Hebrew YOSHIYA from AISH - ALEPH SHIN meaning FIRE and YAH - YUD HEY - meaning GOD. JOSIAH means FIRE OF GOD.

Josiah comes from the Hebrew language and means "found by Jah" (one of the form of the name of God). The best known Josiah in the Bible was a descendent of David who became the King of Judah when he was still a child, and is considered one of the "good" king. There was a revival of worship of God during this reign, and he had idols removed from the land and restore the celegrating of the Passover.
