I just started got a job watching a baby in his mother's office. I am 15 and very experienced i have actually been watching his 2 year old sister ever since she was an infant. But now i will just be watching a 4 month old boy, while his mother isnt far away. I will be doing pretty much everything for him. But im nt sure what to charge and she asked. All opinions welcomed!

I forgot should i charge more when i have to watch the 2 year old and the baby at the same time. It shouldnt be very many times just once and awhile.

If its just the baby, 7-8 per hour is more than reasonable. With older kids charge a little more (8-10, depending on the kid). Also if he's a difficult baby (he cries alot or whatnot) then you might want to up it a little bit.
Tell her you want roughly three dollars more than what she gives you now for his sister since its an all day thing.

Charge her at least 12 dollars a day. She won't find anyone cheaper and she will have a harder time finding someone to watch the baby in her office which must be the way she wants it.

Well, since he's such a small baby and you have experience $7-8 is a good price to charge (depending on where you live I live in ohio and that's resonable).

7 per hour sounds good. Unless she's actually gonna change his diapers and cook for him. I mean, if you're gonna charge, make sure you're doing the full job. Otherwise she might just be trying to help you out by asking you to be her baby sitter when she actually doesn't need it.

Average salary for a sitter is $5/hour...What did you make when you watched his sister? Since you've been serving this woman loyally for awhile now, I'd ask for somewhere around $6.50.

i live in michigan. the going rate for childcare here is $2.50 per hour for babies (children still in diapers). $2.00 per hour for children that are older. and for the record, i think it's unfair for an adult to ask a child what they want to be paid... that puts them in a bad place, not knowing if they want to much... and yet, not wanting to be underpaid. she should have asked you if a certain amount per hour was enough.
