Buffalo or indian head are both the right names.

1929 nickel is $1.00 in good grade and up to $35.00 in uncirculated grade.

With out a date the coin is worth just 5 cents. Sometimes a few collectors that use an acid to bring the date out will pay .25 cents each. As for the anchor on it, that could have been done by almost anyone but most likely a navy man and it was used as a good luck piece. The Indian Head nickel commonly called a buffalo nickel did circulate during world wars one and two. If it is a navy style anchor then that is what it was. I have seen others over the years. it may have little monetary value but does have historic value.

if it still has the date showing and is in good condition it should be worth somthing go to the library and get a book on coin colecting that should tell ya
