Christians think that their religion is the only right one and that they need to help everyone by converting them. Many of them try to say that we're going to hell if we don't accept Jesus as their savior. Don't they know that it's just plain annoying? Does anyone agree that christians need to mind their own business and just leave everyone else alone?

Sorry if I've offended anyone. It's just that so many Christians (not all- and people of other religions) try to tell people that other religions are wrong. I'm Pagan and I have to keep it a secret from my family because they'd have a fit if they knew. It's just that many (not all) just keep on trying to convert everyone else even if they were already told to go away or at least shut up. I know that they think they're doing to right thing, but have they even thought of the possibility that they may be wrong or some of us just don't care?

Sometimes you just have to choose something. So what if Christians think that they are the only one that is right, you still have a choice. No one forces Christianity on you, and you have a choice to listen, or to move out.

First of all, I'm sorry that Christians have tried to push their faith on you. I am a Christian, and one of the things that I learned from my own experience is that I cannot convert anyone. Only God can change your heart.

Christians tend to be well-meaning people who for one reason or another have misinterpreted what the Bible says, specifically at the end of Matthew where Christ commands His followers to go into the world and create disciples of all nations. What most Christians don't realize is that Christ didn't evangelize to his followers, He walked with them. He was their friend. He loved and accepted them as they were, and while He wanted the best for them, He didn't force anything on them. He offered them a new way of living, and this new way of living was so attractive to them that they couldn't help but follow Him. That's the freedom that I've found, and that's the freedom I hope that everyone finds.

If people who know me want to ask questions about my faith, then I'm happy to share with them. But if they don't want to know, then I don't tell them. I simply love and accept them as they are and try to show them the unconditional love of God.

What about Islam? Do they not also believe that you must convert to their faith? Are they obnoxious? Maybe you should ask some families from the Middle East whose lives have been altered by suicide ISLAMIC bombers if they think the narrow-mindedness of Islam is better or worse than Christianity.
The simple fact is that any adherent of any religion will believe that she/he is following the right faith-- Or why would they be a part of the faith??
So if you are going to tell Christians to "leave everyone alone" you are missing the point; tell everyone to keep their religious ideas to themself. Or maybe you should just let people believe what they want to believe?

I think the word "Christian" envelopes everyone, of all religions, actually. At least, I look at it that way. There are Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons, that are forever trying to bring people into their religions; there are the Athiests who simply don't believe a word anyone tells them; the Catholics, yeah, ok, they can get rather annoying, too. I say I am a Christian but I don't /won't subscribe to any one type of religion, even though I was born and raised Catholic. But for what it's worth, I do believe in God.

Ok - so we're all hanging out in the category of
- now this is a tough one....
---> 'Religion & Spirituality'
... right?

Atheists don't have one or the other, because they don't believe in God or even a 'higher power'...

Whereas...

Christianity IS an actual religion...

Please correct me if I'm wrong? Nope, I'm not.

God bless you!

PS: We don't say anyone is going to hell, that's not for us to say or determine, that's entirely up to God (and yes, he does exist), what he has provided is a big beautiful book that lets us all know if we're (Christians) on track to heaven or not - it's called the Bible. You should read it sometime.

PPS: I would love to see more dialogue between religions and learn about each other. See more Hindu's, Sikh's, Muslim's, Buddists on here - share our beliefs and explore them together. I have met and spoken with many of these religions, however, to have a good dialogue and learn more indepth into the religions would be appreciated.

All religious faiths practice exclusivity, Christainity is no exception. The main difference between Christainity and other faiths (excluding Islam) is that Christains are commanded to make disciples of other nations. All religions practice evangelism to a certain extent, some are more obvious about it than others. Most Christains practice this by leading an exemplary life and displaying their faith in their daily living. This is the most effective means of evangelism as it draws others to it by attraction. The groups that you seem to be upset about are those that go door to door. These are mostly seen as cults and are just as despised by the mainstream Christains as they are by you. Some Churches will offer welcome to community baskets or similiar means to welcome a new person to their community, but they will not force the issue. Tolerance is a key Christain virtue. Most believing and practicing Christains (there are many that claim to be Christain-and aren't) won't force an issue and will not argue with you. If you aren't interested, then you aren't interested and will meet with whatever consequences that you would receive. It is your decision and not theirs.

I wouldn't say that many 'Christians' try to convert people. Christian covers many different types of churches...from Anglican to United, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic, etc. etc.
The people you're referring to are most likely the Pentecostals, or 'born again' types...you are correct in saying they are the ones continuously preaching and wanting us to accept their religion, Jesus. I've never heard of an Anglican or a Catholic speaking the way you're describing...they are much more reserved and aren't 'Bible Thumpers'...besides, all you have to say to these people is, 'I have my own beliefs and do not wish to discuss them nor any religion with you, thank you.' Then pleasantly smile and start on another topic...if they continue to speak of religion, walk away.

Everyone is entitled to finding their answers. There is no proof that christianity is the real truth because it is based on the emeblished stories revolving around a common man passed on for generations and put into a corrupt book written by more common men to press the morals and values of one sect onto everyone.

Christians need to mind their own buisness because to them it may be true, but really if you learned that blue was really orange, i dont want to have to deal with having to relearn everything i know as truth just because you say so. LET ME BE I DONT WANT TO BE PART OF YOUR COMMUNIST CULT

Nobody minds their own business and why would you think we should? There are people who'd be dieing from starvation or sickness if doctors and missionaries didn't help them. At the same time, I don't believe it is right to annihilate a culture through the guise of conversion, but then again at least they are helping people instead of sitting here feeling sorry for themselves.

Not all Christians are like that. And don't you think it's annoying when others put down on us. Sure, we can be pushy, but aren't all religions like that? thinking their religion is the only right one? People just tend to aim thier targets at all Christians when most aren't that bad...
