Well - depends on your year. MS one and two years are easy, but they start to crack down on you for your 3rd year. PT in the mornings (Depends on the program - ours mandates at least 3 days a week, though they really push for you to go everyday) at around 0700-0800. On Fridays (schedule also varies by program) we head to the woods at 0900 to about 1400 going over basic Infantry stuff (land navigation, battle drills, etc) and then we sit in class for about 1-2 hours (depends on the teacher. last year we just sat around and goofed off.) Everyonce in awhile, you get to do some cool stuff instead of sitting in the woods (rappelling, basic rifle marksmanship, etc)...and once per semester you spend a weekend on a field training exercise.
It's alot of fun, and you'll meet some great people. They offer great scholarships also (my tuition is paid in full, and I get a stipend and money for books and stuff) However, don't accept a scholarship if you aren't sure you want a commission.
They issue you all the gear you'll need (although I buy alot of my own stuff. The BDU's I was issued look like they came from the Korean War.)

I used to think that ROTC was a joke because I was enlisted in the National Guard first and all the stuff you do in the first 2 years is real basic stuff. In the last 2 years you get some real good training (depending on the school) that I did not appreciate how good it was until I was in a regular army unit.
I agree with the guy above that the SMP is the way to go.

when i was in ROTC it was a JOKE ,it was an easy A and it was great fun.I was prior enlisted so I knew all the basic stuff already so i had a little jump on my classmates too.you can expect to meet some great people and form some contacts that will change you forever, remember you can go to 3 years ROTC with out having to contract, but to get the stipend or any money i think you have to be contracted,if you don't need the money hold off unless you think you can lock in a better deal while this iraq deal is going on -you will wear bdu or class 'b' uniforms to class thats why it is only on tu-th and you will be REQUIRED to PT @0600 m-w-f ,but you will love it because you stay in shape and beer farts and beer sweat are fantastic motivators(try to study or party all night then go run 4 or 5 miles with some wanna be RANGERS ,its funny now but it was not funny then-lol) you will get some great leadership development that helps you manage troops as well as future employees.you will learn to give concise briefings to superiors by breifing the days news and weather. You should also inquire about SIMUALTANIUS membership (this is a cool program that attaches you to a GUARD or RESERVE unit and you are a cadet at drill and get E-6 pay ,check it out -hope this helps

It is like army lite, you have drill practice, and will have a class on varoius army education as part of your college classes.
You will wear your uniform on days you have drill.
You will have a new group of friends and have a real neat hair cut.
It is a great way to pay for your college and a great program

Learning military discipline and behavior; following real orders for the first time. Wearing uniforms. Inspections. Some camaraderie with other men and women in your units. Developing self-confidence.
Being called names by things that look human but act more like corn grubs, and who use the freedoms you are going to protect for them to try to destroy this nation.
