How were we created? Evolution vs. Creation.!?/!.?
Do you believe we evolved from goo or monkey or what?
Or do you believe we were created by a loving God?
You are: Maria Your Answer: EVIDENCE FOR CREATION
1. The Fossil Record...Evolutionists have constructed the Geologic Column in order to illustrate the supposed progression of "primitive" life forms to "more complex" systems we observe today. Yet, "since only a small percentage of the earth's surface obeys even a portion of the geologic column the claim of their having taken place to form a continuum of rock/life/time over the earth is therefore a fantastic and imaginative contrivance.1" "[T]he lack of transitional series cannot be explained as being due to the scarcity of material. The deficiencies are real, they will never be filled."2 This supposed column is actually saturated with "polystrate fossils" (fossils extending from one geologic layer to another) that tie all the layers to one time-frame. "[T]o the unprejudiced, the fossil record of plants is in favor of special creation." 3
2. Decay of Earth's Magnetic Field... Dr. Thomas Barnes, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso, has published the definitive work in this field.4 Scientific observations since 1829 have shown that the earth's magnetic field has been measurably decaying at an exponential rate, demonstrating its half-life to be approximately 1,400 years. In practical application its strength 20,000 years ago would approximate that of a magnetic star. Under those conditions many of the atoms necessary for life processes could not form. These data demonstrate that earth's entire history is young, within a few thousand of years.
3. The Global Flood... The Biblical record clearly describes a global Flood during Noah's day. Additionally, there are hundreds of Flood traditions handed down through cultures all over the world. 5 M.E. Clark and Henry Voss have demonstrated the scientific validity of such a Flood providing the sedimentary layering we see on every continent. 6 Secular scholars report very rapid sedimentation and periods of great carbonate deposition in earth's sedimentary layers..7 It is now possible to prove the historical reality of the Biblical Flood.8
4. Population Statistics...World population growth rate in recent times is about 2% per year. Practicable application of growth rate throughout human history would be about half that number. Wars, disease, famine, etc. have wiped out approximately one third of the population on average every 82 years. Starting with eight people, and applying these growth rates since the Flood of Noah's day (about 4500 years ago) would give a total human population at just under six billion people. However, application on an evolutionary time scale runs into major difficulties. Starting with one "couple" just 41,000 years ago would give us a total population of 2 x 1089. 9 The universe does not have space to hold so many bodies.
5. Radio Halos...Physicist Robert Gentry has reported isolated radio halos of polonuim-214 in crystalline granite. The half-life of this element is 0.000164 seconds! To record the existence of this element in such short time span, the granite must be in crystalline state instantaneously.10 This runs counter to evolutionary estimates of 300 million years for granite to form.
6. Human Artifacts throughout the Geologic Column...Man-made artifacts - such as the hammer in Cretaceous rock, a human sandal print with trilobite in Cambrian rock, human footprints and a handprint in Cretaceous rock – point to the fact that all the supposed geologic periods actually occurred at the same time in the recent past.11
7. Helium Content in Earth's Atmosphere... Physicist Melvin Cook, Nobel Prize medalist found that helium-4 enters our atmosphere from solar wind and radioactive decay of uranium. At present rates our atmosphere would accumulate current helium-4 amounts in less than 10,000 years.12
8. Expansion of Space Fabric...Astronomical estimates of the distance to various galaxies gives conflicting data.13 The Biblical Record refers to the expansion of space by the Creator14. Astrophysicist Russell Humphries demonstrates that such space expansion would dilate time in distant space.15 This could explain a recent creation with great distances to the stars.
9. Design in Living Systems...A living cell is so awesomely complex that its interdependent components stagger the imagination and defy evolutionary explanations. A minimal cell contains over 60,000 proteins of 100 different configurations.16 The chance of this assemblage occurring by chance is 1 in 10 4,478,296 .17
10. Design in the Human Brain...The human brain is the most complicated structure in the known universe.18 It contains over 100 billion cells, each with over 50,000 neuron connections to other brain cells.19 This structure receives over 100 million separate signals from the total human body every second. If we learned something new every second of our lives, it would take three million years to exhaust the capacity of the human brain. 20 In addition to conscious thought, people can actually reason, anticipate consequences, and devise plans - all without knowing they are doing so.21

Welcome to , the web site of the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas.
As you browse our pages you will receive educational information presenting scientific evidence for creation and design by a personal Creator. This scientifically chartered museum was established in July of 1984 for the purpose of research, excavation, and display of scientific evidence for creation. The Museum's team, led by its Founder and Director, Carl Baugh, Ph.D., has excavated eleven dinosaurs (Acrocanthosaurus, Stegosaurus, Allosaurus, etc.), 475 dinosaur tracks, 86 human footprints, 7 cat prints, and other fossil remains - all in Cretaceous limestone. Excavations were professionally documented along the Paluxy River and various other international locations.
Among museums this entity makes a unique contribution, demonstrating that man and dinosaur lived contemporaneously

I am a scientist and a Christian. The two things are apples and oranges. As a scientist, the evidence of evolution is overwhelming and there is a good, sound understanding of how life evolved on this planet. It is a question of the best explanation for the facts and, as far as most scientists are concerned, evolution is not a "theory" any more than "gravity" is a theory.
As a Christian, I proclaim God as Creator. This is a statement of faith in the complete power and authority of God and in His rule over the earth. It is not a statement about science at all. It is a statement that I trust in God.
Genesis 1 was composed during the Babylonian Exile in the 6th century BCE. It is strongly based on Babylonian Creation stories except for the substitution of the Hebrew God for the Babylonian Marduk. It is a statement of faith. These people knew nothing of science or how to understand their world other than to just say "God did it". That is the classic definition of "myth"--ascribing divine action to explain things that are not understood. The Creation myth of Genesis explained the origin of the world to a prescientific people. It is a beautiful hymn to the Creator, but it is not a statement of science or history.

My approach would not be to try to reconcile the two, but rather look for how the two complement each other. I quote from a recent article that says it better than I:
Science assumes that the external matter and energy aspect of the world — from which the human brain is formed and of which consciousness is an emergent attribute — is primary. From the scientific perspective, we are inconsequential glitches in the stretch of cosmic history. We emerged through random processes and we will disappear through astral fading, if not through colossal blunders of our own.
From the religious perspective, consciousness is primary, because all the light and color, beauty and magnificence of the world are only in human heads. The symmetry and fragrance, sweetness and melody are part of the universe only because of us. Without consciousness there can be no poetry or mathematics, no art or science. We are the ones who light up the universe and detect or infuse meaning and majesty in the world. Without us, planets and stars, waves and vibrations would be cast in one dark, dismal abyss, unnoticed and unsung for all of eternity.
Science tells us that we share a common ancestor with apes. Religions remind us that we are also descended from prophets and philosophers. Science tells us that the matter in our bodies was formed in the core of supernovae. Religion tells us that our consciousness is likewise related to the cosmic whole.
Hurts and atrocities have been perpetrated in the name of practically all religions, as those virulently against religions often remind us. But then, scientific knowledge, the Internet, television and other worthy institutions have also been misused. This is no argument for eradicating them.
Religion's function is not to account for natural phenomena. No religion can coherently tell us how the first palpitations of life arose. Nor should religions intrude into the affairs of the state or insinuate themselves into science classrooms. Likewise, it is not the function of science to show us the difference between right and wrong, or to console us in bereavement. Science cannot explain why mindless matter persists for eons in a cold and callous universe, and why consciousness arose.

the story of creation is merely a parable. (the bible is full of them) it was a way to explain things that, at the time, were not explainable. much like the greek, roman, or norse myths. there was not the technology or know-how to understand the process of evolution. but there was a need to explain where things came from. the story of creation is not 'wrong'. it's just the best explanation that could be rendered at the time. much of the bible is written in parables allegories and metaphors, not to be taken literally, but to be interpreted by each successive generation according to their own knowledge and biases.
that being said there is no reason why religion and science cannot co-exist. like taivo said, it's really apples and oranges.
by the way taivo, speaking of gravity being a theory, you should check out that onion article on gravity actually being 'intelligent falling'. absolutely hilarious!

If one insists on subscribing to such absurdity and absolutely must make such a reconciliation between the Jewish-Christian creation myth and the objectively proven biological phenomenon of evolution, it's rather simple to imagine that that which was created by whatever man-perceived creation force - whatever form, figure or functionality it might have been or had - was what evolved by the observed rules of natural selection through several millenia to eventually become what we consider the modern human being today.

The lord used evolution to create Earth and the many things we have on it. A day to the lord is somewhat different than a day as we know it. But it gives us a more of a time frame we can understand if we think that all was created in six days then we are only on earth for a split second to learn what we have to know. Which is what God needs to teach us so that we can live in a holy place with him.

The Creation Story is just that, a story to explain the unexplainable to people who had no way to understand evolution. The fact that evolution exists has been proven, but it still doesn't totally rule out a loving, creating God. If existence began with a "big bang," someone still had to light the fuse.

i do not. the only area of the concept of evolution it is actual virtually incontrovertible reality is that variations ensue interior of sorts of animals. The info that one type of animal will change into yet another, say dinosaur into birds, a fave modern hypothesis, is lacking in any significant info. maximum of what's speculated to be info should be defined in a creationist sort of existence and not using a difficulty. yet supposing for only a second that animals did evolve over thousands and thousands/billions of years, that it is how God chosen to carry forth animal type. All it is quite required contained in the Adam and Eve tale for it to be authentic, is that God created Adam and Eve instantly from the dirt of the floor, and under no circumstances by potential of evolutionary potential. therefore it pick no longer intervene including your efficient evolution of species theories too a lot. they have not got here upon any definitive info for the evolution of guy from primate, and maximum of people that contained in the previous were stated as info have better at the moment been debunked.

don't have to justify evolution since the entire concept is impossible, something can not be created from nothing using any science at all.
And you can take a fish out of water onto the land for the next 10000 years and it will still die and not learn to breath air.

Let me put it to you like this: Believing that all of creation and the perfection of Earth and our bodies is an accident of nature makes about as much sense as looking at a fine Rolex watch and believing that there was an explosion in the workshop and the watch just happened. Savy?

Possibly God's attempt to explain to creation to those with limited ability to understand. Who knows for sure how He created us. The how is not as important as the Why or the What. Not all in the Bible is meant to be taken literally. Some are what is known as parables.
