Volunteer to go to Iraq. I hear its nice and toasty over there. Other than that, no. Unless you get station of choice on your contract, and then your only guaranteed for your first assignment.

While I am not sure of this, I think in Iraq, in the winter time, at night, it can actually get very cold. Better ask before you pack.
