where do you think the term "pug ugly" comes from?

I don't think that it has anything to do with people being ignorant. It's just a matter of opinion. I happen to think that there are better looking/cuter dogs, but pugs are not hideous. They can be very cute. As I said, it's just an opinion. (my favorite dog is a bassett hound)

I for one don't think pugs are ugly. Pugs are one of my favorite dog breeds. I have a pug named Mister Tibbs.

They are like Yoda...so ugly they're cute! I had a Shih Tzu clipped short. Between the snaggletooth on one side, the ears sticking out at a right angle from his head, & the buggy eyes he was cute in a way only a mother could love.

You know what i was wondreing the same thing cause i think that they are the cutiest thing and i have always wanted a pug but they have so many heath problems with their nose being the way that it is and they get hip dysplasia. but besides their health problems they are so cute

The same reason that people think that Chihuahuas are ugly. People are different and have different likes and dislikes. Myself, I do not like the looks of a smushed face dog, but that is just me. They also have a lot of breathing problems.
