A high-fiber diet isn't just good for humans. It can be just what a constipated dog needs. Vets recommend buying a pet food that contains 7 to 13 percent fiber. You will find the fiber percentage on the label. By regularly eating a high-fiber diet your pet may never be constipated again.

Moblize with Metamucil. This over-the-counter la
ax contains psyllium seed husks, which pull water into the stool and help move it along. Vets recommend giivng about 1/2 teaspoons twice a day to small pets and about
2 teaspoons twice a day to large dogs. To make Metamucil more palatable, try mixing it with a small portion of canned food. Or if you're adding it to dry kibble, mix in some warm broth or water. Just be sure to give your pet plenty of water so the Metamucil doesn't congeal in her stomach.

A sprinkle of oat bran every day can help keep constipation
away. Depending on the size of your pet, vets advise adding
from 1/2 teaspoon to 2 tablespoons of oat bran easier to get down.

Is she eating & drinking?

Probably a bit dehydrated from all of the change in environment.

My vet recommended cat hair ball remedy for a constipated puppy that I had. Worked in 2 doses. About 1/2 inch of the paste should do it.

I would keep an eye on this, I would take the pup's temperture to see if there is fever (normal is 101-102). And if there is, call your vet in the morning. There may be something brewing here.

I've beena Boxer breeder for 18+ years and when we are at shows and our dogs don't "poop" on schedule, we use a paper match dipped in a little vaseline. Insert it gently into the anus, and leave about half sticking out. Give her some time outside (watching her) and the match will give her the "urgency" to "poop" and then give her LOTS OF PRAISE!!! She will get the idea after a couple of times.

Did you keep her on the same food? If you changed her food that can cause a bit of constipation, if not then add 1 teaspoon of canned food and water to her regular food (like a gravey over the top) and make sure she is getting plenty of water. MOST pups I have raised have had a BM within in an hour of every meal.

Hi, I used to have a toy Min - Pin, & they are so loyal, a good pick on your part!!!!!. Well, go to yahoo search, & ask how to get a puppy to deficate, & see what you can find. Or call a different Vet.in the near vicinity. The puppy just might not feel use to it's new inviorment yet & isn't relaxed enough to go.

Ask your vet to give her laxatives. She might be constipated but yet not showing any signs. The laxatives will help her poop.

Give her a couple of tablespoons of canned pumpkin. If she hasn't pooped in a couple of hours, give her some more. Great laxative for dogs.

After she eats I would walk around outside or in your yard until she goes...wait her out. If she still doesn't take her back to the vet you don't want her to get a blockage...that would be bad..surgery would be required.

It might help to rub her anal area with a wet cotton ball. It stimulates the mothers licking and has worked for me before.
