How do you move from a casual friendship that's not really that close to a intimate friendship?

I've been talking with this girl for several months. We're basically just lunch buddies. I often times feel she's just using me for my helpful, kind and generous ways. Each time I try to get some personal time with her, she makes excuses for not being able to spend time with me.
Here's an example of how I feel she's using me: She just went on a long trip alone and asked I call and check on her about every hour to help keep her awake. So, I did and I also checked her routing when she felt she had the wrong directions. After she reached her destination, I called to see if she made it alright and she told me she had a fight with the hotel front desk person - trying to prove her identity. She said she was frustrated, so I asked how does she get over frustrations and she said by not having conversations and wanted to end ours. I wished her a fun stay.
Seems like every time she gets what she needs from me she is quick to cut me off and out. Am I wrong to feel something isn't right?

I hate to say it, but yes, she is just using you for her own needs. I am sure if you continue, and even get to a "relationship", you will find it will only be one-way......hers! She is obviously not concerning herself with your needs and probably never will. Usually it is because 1) she is just plain selfish or 2) she just isn't that "into you". Sorry, but I would keep it casual if even that.....

Don't call it an intimate friendship. Intimate frienships don't work She'll just be your booty partner. Yall can be friends, but when you want it and she wants it, yall sex each other up and leave it at that. Don't discuss what happend, don't try to make a relationship out of it. Just strictly a booty partner. Nothing more nothing less.

I would totally get rid of this girl, she sounds like she is all about herself. In the end it may turn out to be something like if you don't give her what she wants , she will make you feel guilty enough to give it to her. She is using you. Just get rid of her.
