Fasting...going without eating...will make you lose weight. So will eating less.

So....how bout this: Eat less, and get lots of exercise. THAT will lose MORE weight than just fasting...and, you will be healthy!

No. Fasting forces your body to go into starvation mode: your metabolism slows to almost nothing so you can conserve energy, making it harder to lose weight. If you lost weight due to fasting, it was only weight from water, nothing more. After 4 to 5 days of eating little to nothing, your body will go into a state of cannibalism: you'll be eating your muscle and fat stores.

Fasting is not a healthy way to lose weight. Radical changes (like fasting) in the daily diet usually make it harder for the body to burn fat.

If you want to lose a few pounds, do your body a favor; eat right and exercise daily. This plan definitely feels a lot better (physically and emotionally) than starvation, and it's long-lasting.

Its possible to lose weight yes. Is it safe, depends on how you approach it and how long you let it go. The bigger problem for most people is once they start to eat normal again they gain all of their weight back that they lost and sometimes more. If you are trying to lose weight a sensible diet combined with exercise is better for you. You will gain more from it from a health perspective AND you confidence and pride in self will grow as well as a better will to resist over eating and gaining your weight back because you have worked hard to get where you are and don't want to end up doing it all over again.

Yes and no, you will lose weight, however starvation, makes you lose muscle mass, something you do not want to lose.
However, fasting can ged rid of alot of toxins in your body and make fat loss more effecient.
If you do try it, do not do it for more than 10-14 hours at a time, and more than 2 times a week, DO NOT go on multiple day fasts, make sure you drink plenty of water, and take potassium supplements and a little salt.
Also try "psyllium husks" to clean out your digestive system, you can get it at Wall Mart for $5.

Don't listen to all these people who do not know. Lots of strange negative ideas about it. See below site about fasting for weight loss and health with quotes by 8 medical doctors. I am an avid faster for anti-aging but why trust me. This also has the New England Journal of Medicine saying it is good for weight loss.

Jesus, Aristostle and Plato fasted but the devil tried to stop Jesus from fasting. Tells you the cautions with fasting.

don't fast. you may lose a few pounds at first, but after you start to eat again, you can gain soooo much more weight. this is because when people don't eat, it slows down thier metabolism and which means they gain more. exercising and eating right without pigging out on too many sweets is healthy, and is the best way to lose weight. i hope i answered your question!

i've always heard fasting will lower your metabolism, and that makes it harder to lose weight...even if you did lose some at first, as soon as you start eating normally again, your slower metabolism would end up making you gain weight quicker than before. better to pick a good diet, exercise

skipping meal ISNT a good idea....instead u should be having "small" meals 5-6 times....this way your METABOLISM increases which eventually helps cut calories........ skipping a meal would mean your depriving your body of nutrients so it will start consuming muscle== not healthy

just divide ur meals around the day, keep munching on sumthn or the other every 2-3 hrs (it could be a carrot stick!! or even a cup of tea maybe.....)

have ice cold water 2-3 times, since ur body temperature goes down, ur metabolism will increase to increase the body temperature!

yes - most of it is water and you will most likely gain it all back as soon as you stop fasting. Try the fat smash diet - which is a detox at the beginning. you lose the water weight at the beginning and then the rest in a healthy way w/o gaining it all back.
