peace. i think i know what you are trying to get at. i am no theologian but i think i have the information you are looking for. first and foremost, i am a roman catholic, so, i am going to explain it to you the way it was taught to me in ecclessiology class(church history).
the bible, our holy book (im supposing you are a christian yourself), is the book where you can find all the foundational truths about our faith. however, my answer to your question is "no" (take note of quotation marks).
the scripture must go with tradition. tradition tells us how the apostles and early christians interpreted these biblical texts. anyone can draw rich insight from scriptural quotations but not all of these are technically correct, especially if they are interpreted in a literal manner. the magisterium (the teaching capacity of the catholic church) ensures that scriptural interpretation is sound, solid, and univocal throughout the world.
early protestants rejected church magisterium not because they found it as faulty. rather, they rejected it because they saw some of the traditional aspects of the magisterium as avenues for abuse (e.g. selling of indulgences and the sacraments) by the clergy. they then, thought it wise to scrap the whole tradition so as to free themselves from abusive clergy and stick to the bible as the sole rule of their faith.
i hope i answered your question.

It sounds like you have answered your own question. It seems pretty obvious that the Bible cannot be the sole rule of faith, doesn't it.
The problem is all about authority. Who has the authority to compile the books, translate, interpret... the Bible? Well, the Bible itself says that the Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth. So look to the Church - the original Catholic Church.

The bible got here from oral education and sacred custom. moves were surpassed down over the generations----in scripture called the BIBLE. i believe it skill now to not idolize different products or beings except god. Which God is got here upon interior the bible, accurate? alongside with the Qu'ran, the Torrah, etc. perhaps in case you had to have a strong question you would have provided the precise scripture that announces what you try to teach....Then we would have a respectable argument the following. And purple: Stoning disobedient little ones to lack of existence??? authentic, yet also old. The BIBLE not in any respect stated doing that become accurate. that's a sin, and that i 'm fantastically positive the bible become morally antagonistic to all that sinnng and stuff. and also you do not imagine that such issues as that do not take position on the on the spot?? in case you imagine it does or doesn't, sinning is provided in all diverse kinds, even if that is someone be atheist (for me that in simple terms qualifies as stupidity), someone committing adultery, or someone stealing. The bible would have that in that is scripture and portray it as a existence-style back then, yet those moves were not inspired. in simple terms keep in mind you, souless heathen: Jesus loves you.

God has had many different people write about her through the millenia. Yes, some of those people wrote the bible, others, the Torah and Quran and the Bhagavad Gita, and many other texts and other books out there as well. God runs it all my friend. But is not limited to just one book or the other.
I don't agree with your opinion that everybody's interpretation of the bible would be the same. God has not taught error at all, we simply have different perspectives of what is error. Of what is right and wrong. No one thinks that they are wrong given their perspective of the world.
I think that all holy books can be interpreted in as many different ways are there are souls to interpret them. This is part of our God given gift of free will.

Not sure who the "Reformers" are, unless you mean the various Protestant sects. But they did not reject the Catholic doctrine, just some of their rituals. The Bible is not the only book of faith. You have to remember that Jesus never read, or heard of the Bible. He was a Jew, and grew up reading the Torah and other religious documents from the Jewish faith.

With humility and an open mind, you should read the great books of highly ethical and learned authors who have devoted their lives to the search for truth. If you have read extensively enough, you will be led to the conclusion that there is so much to learn spiritually and ethically outside the bible. You will also realize how ethical concepts have evolved and why many of the ethical precepts in the bible would be repugnant to us today. So no, the bible cannot be the sole rule of faith, but I'd rather you come to that conclusion yourself through your untiring search for truth.

Yes...
However, proper interpretation of some passages of the Bible requries an understanding of the historic-grammatic-cultural context...
Yes there are many denominations, but any of them that accept the Bible as the Sole Rule of Faith subscribe to a common core of doctrines. They differ no minor doctrines, not major doctrines.
Cordially,
John

God said search the scriptures for yourself....there is only one truth. the main points in the bible are not contradictory...especially on salvation, which is the most important thing and trating people with love. if you can just get those two points down, God will show you the rest and its truths...there is no need to argue the bible..that just cause division...a tool of Satan to destroy people and the word of God. Religion was not God's plan but man's....so amongst all the argueing over this and that why???? Just accept Jesus and Love everyone as your neighbor...everyone

Interesting question. If you look at the history of our current compilation of the bible the answer would have to be no. There was alot of politics involved in deciding which books to include in the bible and it has left some holes that can be clearly seen. Such as books that are quoted as scripture but not actually included as scripture.

This is a dangerous question to answer. For a lot of Christians today, the Bible is the literal word of God given to man.
They don't like anyone to question that. Rather than offend, I will simply state that we are called to believe by Faith alone.
