I've done about two hundred weddings and only failed at one. ( Number 56 ) The rest have been outstanding. I lose sleep the day before the wedding. Why do I suffer so much? However, once I start shooting I do a great job. I just completed a wedding yesterday and now I'm worried about the next one. ( Next Sat. ) I would like to quit but I'm all booked up for the next 5 months......And some next year. Anyone else stressed out about weddings?

First, this sounds made up. Anyone whose done that many weddings or even close to it, don't get that stressed out unless they either 1) repeatedly produce bad results or 2) repeatedly messing something up with either the images, final product, etc.

However, if it's not, it sounds like you need a release for all your stress. Because if you don't get it under control, it's going to show in your photographs. Do something like work out, draw, crafts, etc. Something that will allow you to take a moment away from the stress of photography and sit back and relax.

A day or so before every wedding I photograph, I'll spend a few hours at my local massage therapist. What this does is remind me that I am in control and there is nothing to worry about.

You really need to take a break from all that work... you're definitely stressing yourself out and its taking a toll on your health, both physically and mentally. Finish your commitments to the current weddings and don't book anymore... hire an assistant to help relieve the pressure... advertise the assistant position at Photography Schools....

You really need a break.

It is normal. It is usually the anticipation, the excitement and other such factors. You want everything to be perfect and this can cause tension. As long as you are doing a good job and your customers are not complaining it is alright. Maybe you should practice some relaxation techniques.
