I got an E in my final exams, but i think that's a good idea cuz you would try to do better. In my school, A=90%, B=80%, C=70%, D=60% and E=50% and F= fail. I think in your school 60% is the passmark and F is a fail so they try to upkeep the student's potential. In my country, nationally, any recommendations to further your studies you must have a grade A to C. My other friend got a D and she could not further her studies. YOU MUST TRY TO GET SOME As AND Bs AND YOU WON'T HAVE A PROBLEM!!! STUDY HARD.

Some places do use an E instead of an F. My High School used this on our report cards. But I think they may worry that it will conflict with Excellent?

E is also used as a grade. May be in your school it is not given. Ask Your teacher to follow the universal norm.

E's are usually used for conduct in schools, and not for grades. They stand for excellent behavior.

Depends where you live. You can get an E here. Don't assume everything is the same as it is where you are all the time.
