in referring this promise of the coming "helper" to Mohammed?

Muslim scolars see in this reference of promised "Helper"(paracletos) a prediction of Muhammed, because the Quran (Surah 61:6 ) refers to Mohammed as "Ahmad" ( periclytos) which they take to be the correct rendering of "paracletos".

Thank you for all answers!

There are absolutely no grounds for concluding the "Helper" ( paracletos )Jesus mentioned here is Mohammed.

The "Helper" was to abide with them "forever" (v 16 ), but Mohammed has been dead for 13 centuries.

Lord affirmed the Helper would be sent "in My name " John 14:26. No Muslim believes Mohammed was sent by Jesus in His name.

The Helper would "glorify" Jesus ( John 16:14 ), but Mohammed claims to supersede Jesus, being a later prophet.

Jesus asserted that the Helper would come in "not many days" (ACTS 1:5), whereas Mohammed did not come for 600 years.

THE HELPER, THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!

John 14:16 has nothing to do with "muslims" it is speaking about the "Holy Spirit"

As the meeting with his 11 faithful apostles progressed, Jesus informed them that soon he would no longer be with them in the flesh. But he assured them: “I will request the Father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever.” (John 14:16) The promised helper is God’s holy spirit. It would teach them deep things of the Scriptures and bring back to their minds what Jesus had taught them during his earthly ministry.

How can the holy spirit help us today? Well, the Bible is God’s inspired Word. The men who were used to utter prophecies and to write the Bible “were borne along by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20, 21) Our studying the Scriptures and applying what we learn gives us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, insight, discernment, and thinking ability. Are we then not better prepared to face the pressures of the wicked world?

The holy spirit is a helper in yet another way. God’s holy spirit is a powerful force for good, enabling those under its influence to display godly qualities. “The fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control,” says the Bible. Are these not the very qualities we need in order to conquer fleshly inclinations toward immorality, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, and the like? Galatians 5:19-23.

By relying on God’s spirit, we can also receive “power beyond what is normal” to deal with any trouble or distress. (2 Corinthians 4:7) While the holy spirit may not remove trials or temptations, it can surely help us to endure them. “For all things I have the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me,” wrote the apostle Paul. (Philippians 4:13) God imparts such power by means of his holy spirit. How grateful we can be for the holy spirit! It is promised to those who ‘love Jesus and keep his commandments.’

Well it say the helper is a spirit which the world did not know Mohammad was a man which men knew, but the disciples did not know Mohammad and the Messiah said that they Knew the helper. Check out Mt.11:12-13, Lu.13:24, Lu16:16 These scripture show how John the baptist is the last prophet. Also show that John was spoken about in Isa.40:3, Mt. 3:1 as a prophet to come. No where in the Bible we see anything about Mohammad. Everything that is to happen and all who is to guide us are in the Bible these are prophecies so that we may believe when they take place.

Ten verses down from where you are quoting has the answer.

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of all that I have told you." (John 14:26)

Jesus Himself defined without a doubt, who the Helper would be. And it ain't Muhammad.

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

JOH 14:16 Comforter

G. Parakletos, "one called alongside to help." Translated "advocate," 1 John 2:1. Christ is the believer's Paraclete with the Father when he sins; the Holy Spirit the believer's indwelling Paraclete to help his ignorance and infirmity and to make intercession Romans 8:26,27.

I normally wouldn't answer in this manner but I think it was needed in this case.
I hope that it helps.

As a Muslim, we believe it was predicted that Muhammad (PBUH) would be the last and final Prophet (from a long list of Prophets including Adam, Abraham, Issac, Ishmael, Jesus, etc...). This was revealed prior to his coming.

The Quran was to be the final and corrected book (Torah and Bible).

no but read john 16:2-4 and their is a message about Islam:They will put you out of the synagouge;in fact,a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.They will do such things because they have not known the father or me. I have told you this,so that when the times come you will remember that I warned you.
