I have had dreams like this in the past. Sometimes they are just what I like to call "pizza dreams," meaning you ate too late and so you had crazy dreams. Other people will tell you that you are too stressed.
I will tell you from personal experience that the only times in my life I dreamed about buildings crumbling or coming apart or especially seeing people enduring severe physical trauma or pain it's actually your body talking to you. Weird, I know, but it's true.
When I had a dream about people dying/dead/sick/in pain, it was my family, but they were ok in real life. It was my body telling me that I couldn't change what was going to happen to me soon, but to warn me to prepare to take better care of it. Two weeks after I had the dream I was diagnosed with mono. Not fun. And I did not get it from kissing anyone, it just happened.
I think you should take it seriously, that perhaps your body knows something you don't, and just to eat a little better and rest more often the next few weeks. You'll be ok... but honestly, just beware of what your body is trying to tell you, and listen. It honestly can't hurt!
As with any other dream, I suggest you should take into consideration how often you have this dream, when you have it (like the time of day) and what you've eaten just before it. The fact you can even remember it says something to me. Good luck on figuring it out. You'll be alright.

Besides movies, media,, actually event can contribute dreams like that especially after 9/11. I am sure many people have similar dreams after that.
It is called anxiety. We are worried because what we heard and watched. It goes into our mind. Unconsciously, we fear that it will happen to us. This is normal.
The only way to get this out is to talk about it, and be positive on things. These kinds of dreams will go away...

It it could be your having preminitions or if a plane crashed near you, you could be picking up memories from those on the other side. Don't discount your dreams. Scientists still don't know their exact purpose or why we have them and what we do with the other 80% of our brain.

it could be the future your seeing or just a dream...all dreams have meanings.. you should go to barnes and noble.. and get dream books.. this is what i found for you Dreaming of a plane crash or turbulence means a project will be delayed.. or in my opinion you could be worried about failing in something. also think about wheather you are taking a trip on a plane or someone else is.. could of brought it on.

try and condition your thoughts before you fall asleep,as you lay there, visualize and think about what you want to dream about with your eyes closed,it works!sounds like you've become fixated with the recurrant dream, even if you try not to think about it it still is entering your subconcious. the more you try to avoid it the more it will recur.soon it will be gone, think about kids smiling& laughing,sex,swimming,whatever....just visualize and you will soon fall into slumber.you can "condition" your dreams.
