This is a constant bother to me also.
The best scholars have tried since the days of Joseph Smith to prove that his claims were false and yet it hasn't been done. Some says it was all a hoax, yet Joseph and Hyrum Smith both gave their lives without recanting their beliefs. Even after being excommunicated from the Church, Oliver Cowdrey maintained that he saw the plates and helped Joseph Smith translate the writings. If it were a hoax it's been the most elaboate hoax in history. It's lasted more than 175 years and has become the fasted growing church in the world.
It would seem that any church who has donated millions of dollars in relief assistance, who teaches civic responsibility, high moral standards, strong families, abstinence from drugs and alcohol, to take care of each other in times of need, to prepare for hard times so we can take care of ourselves, industriousness and to not content with other religions would get a little more respect. Any other church with some of the singular distinctions the Mormon church has might get more credit. Outside of some Native American tribes the Mormons are the only people in this country I know of that has had a govenment approved extermination order against them. The early church members were run out of Missouri and Illinois (which both states have declarations of apology for) and many died on their way to a place they could practice religious freedom. They were killed and raped, their homes and crops burned, and yet, they didn't give up their religion. I'd like to see some of the other religions then or today do that. All this aginst the Mormons and all they have ever said aginsat the accusers is, "Love them." Even those who really know nothing about the Church, just what they hear from someone else or read in an anti-Mormon pamphlet or book. Anyone who sincerely researched what they are arguing against would know better. That's all it takes - find out for yourself. Don't take my word or someone elses. No one here takes angels word over God's. That's twisting the truth, which most of these claims are anyway. I've generally found that the people who scream the loudest against the church are those who have been listening to one of the anti's and take every word as factual.
Carpanone Kid - name just one.

I lived a Mormon life for 17 years, and after that I have continued to study for the past 26 years. My family immigrated from Europe to pioneer across the country in a wagon train to Utah, and has been Mormon for 5 generations going back to 1853 with Brigham Young, the bloody oath temple rituals, the blood atonement doctrine, the Mountain Meadows Massacre, the Adam-God doctrine, and they were high ranking polygamists in the Mormon church even after the manifesto.
I know what I'm talking about because after I left Mormonism I had a conversion experience with Jesus which showed me He is God. Since then I learned what the real Christian gospel and doctrines are...something every Mormon should know since they are so against it.
Mormons do not worship Jesus Christ as God, and they don't pray to Him, therefore, Mormons are not Christians. Not only that, Mormons deny their sin nature and don't even feel the need to be reconciled to God. It's not a surprise that Satanists feel comfortable there, and they probably like all the inverted pentagrams, secret rituals, there are no crosses anywhere, and they discredit the Bible as the Word of God.
Mormons do not teach the truth in fact the whole religion is based on some very big lies - one being that Christianity is an abomination and of the devil. Don't you know Mormonism condemns every other religious system regardless of how you feel about it?
You should look into the Mormon religion yourself and see exactly what your teachers say, and how much of the "facts" of Mormonism are completely false.

Yes, I have many friends that are Mormons. You are one of few LDS members I know though that believes all Christians not just Mormons go to heaven. That's Christ like thinking.... and I have no problem with you. No one is perfect, no religion is. It has to be all about Christ and searching for the truth no matter where it leads you (as long as God is there)

Please, you're not fooling anyone here. Also, in the classicial sense, it would be a stretch to consider yourself Christian. You take the word of an "angel" over scripture, you don't believe in the Trinity in the sense of 3 persons, one God, etc. You can't just discount ex-members by saying that they "didn't follow the religion anyway". That's a cop-out. The fact is, there are too many that are credible, they were very high up in the organization.

Dear Tyson,
I like Mormons. :)
I spent hundreds of hours researching the LDS church and theology, and came to the conclusion that the key teachings of the LDS church contradict the Bible (and contradict what Joseph Smith wrote).
I have asked LDS missionaries questions on the topics you mention...
And I go based on what they have told me (in addition to books I purchased from Mormon bookstores).
I have a copy of the original book of Mormon; also the entire set of Journal of Discourses (with the early sermons of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other LDS leaders). I have a copy of Joseph Smiths Inspired version of the Scriptures (in addition to the 4-plex, and numerous missionary manuals).
Feel free to email me if you think there are any LDS doctrines I misunderstand, or that you would like to discuss.
Cordially,
John

When I was headed to Satanism I started studying the LDS Faith because of a Girl at school. I found that they are the most faithful people to the bible and that is why I joined the church.

Elizabeth, the original Bible was not changed by Mormons. They continued the "story".
A lot of people don't care for LDS. I think a lot of it is misunderstanding. Actually, a lot of questions were answered by the church.

You're asking Christians to do something they are totally incapable of doing - to think for themselves! If they're really convinced of the truth behind their faith, why clutter up their empty little heads with information on other churches, when all those other churches are wrong and spreading lies? What's the point?

Ignorance is the answer to many questions. Very few that claim to be Christians know anything about religion of any kind.

I have a Mormon book in my house. It says about the golden tablets and about some people vouch that they saw them. I'm sorry but that's weak.
