Well now that is an interesting question. Perhaps due to the fact of what the Catholic preists did? It was really rather shocking. Or perhaps because the bible tells not to worship false idiols and the catholic church is full of statues. Who knows, some will always find a reason to hate or disagree. It just seems odd because these two religions are suppose to be on the same side. After all they follow the same deities.

Most Christians do not resent the Catholics, they resent their religion. BTW, many Catholics are Christian. It is the beliefs held by the Catholic church and their history that repulse most (other) Christians. The Catholic church became corrupt right at the beginning, and they have never recovered. Past popes have ordered the execution of millions of Christians through history. Their help to the Nazis in WW II and their protection of pedophile priest only serves to confirm that the church is still corrupt, with no sign of repentance. It is hard to be in fellowship with a church that is supposed to be christian but allows these atrocities with no remorse. That's about as nice as I can say it.

These God damn Christians wanted to steal Abraham from the Jews and now they want to steal Christ from the Catholics. If being Christian is like you self righteous bigots, I would be very happy not to be identified with you and would rather not be a Christian, I'll remain a Catholic and my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be Catholics. Catholics don't look down on people no matter how wrong they can get because catholics believe that people always have a chance in Jesus and Catholics don't create wild stories just to destroy a following and claim that they are right. If Christians are fingerpointers like what I would usually see, I can proudly say that I am not Christian, I am Catholic. Everytime Christianity is being bashed and besmirched, I come out of my shell and defend Christianity for my heart calls for Jesus and you want to cancel me from the list because I am Catholic? Who do you think gave you the sole right to box me out? Is Christianity being sold as a franchise? Now, I understand why even though Christians don't strap bombs they are hated so much but before I used to wonder why, but now I saw the very reason how Christians can make atheists out of their neighbors. So, get out of my way and get lost you Christian Pharisees, Belzebub is your father for you scatter the flock that Jesus gathered. You can tell me with all your might that I will go to hell. The hell I care. Your bigotry is already more than hell to me.

You do realize that Catholics are Christians, right? I didn't realize that there was resentment regarding the Catholic faith from other Christians. If so it is probably that they do not agree with a lot of the Catholic rituals, etc. I am Catholic and I don't agree with a lot of things in the faith. Confession to a priest being just one of them. Not being able to use birth control or have tubal ligation if you are Catholic. There are many things, too much to get into.

i'm not a very religious person, believe me i have shortcomings in my spiritual life but i don't agree w/ some of the answers here...
hey!don't question any religion's belief, may it be catholic, muslim, jewish or whatever. it's not right to say certain religions' belief is wrong...!
a belief is a belief,,there's no right and wrong in a belief.
it may be wrong for you,but not for others.
and correction w/ regards to the statues...
we don't worship them,it's just a representation of the real thing.
it's like a picture,it reminds you of someone you love...
reading the answers above,i figure there are a lot of misconceptions about Catholics.i was raised as a Catholic but i don't worship statues,as i've said, i treat it as a representation.
w/ regards to the priests being molestors or whatever they do that isn't right, the mistake of a person or certain people in a community(in this case a religion) doesn't mean a mistake of the whole Catholic community.
priests are humans too, they make mistakes like everyone else.
and w/ regards to the abortion, contraceptions etc. that's the congregation's point of view because they value life.
but it's still up to your belief to decide...

I think a lot has to do with the boastful attitude of the church in general as well as the abuse scandals of late. And yet they will follow the Catholic teaching of worshiping on Sunday, the venerable day of the sun that the Catholic Church boasts about as changing by their own power and authority. Doesn't make sense, does it? You are not Christians but I will follow your teachings. If that is not the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. Why follow the teachings if you do not believe they are Christian?

Non-catholics are also called Protestants. This means people who protest, and what they protest against is the Catholic Church.
Their main theological disagreement involves the placing of a human, the priests, between humans and God.
Also, the Catholic Church tends to deprecate the Bible, which Protestants believe is the inspired word of God.
I am one who believes the obvious, that Catholics are indeed Christians. I know Protestants who are so hostile they even claim the Pope is the Anti-Christ, when all intelligent people know it's Hilary. (JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!)

Catholics (I was raised one myself) practise idolatry in the form of saints, statues, and icons. This is against the Ten Commandments. Also, they use the pope as some ultimate authority under God, which could be seen as a demi-god type position. Also, they believe the Eucharist is the actual transformation of bread into the body of Christ. Some Christians believe this is cannibalistic. LOL

There are actual 4 significant branches of Christianity - Catholicism, eastern Orthodox, Protestantism and Non-denominational. There are persons amoungst a number of those communities which have resentment for an extra. keep in mind all of those church homes grew out of splits to the unique Church instigated by using Christ and stepped forward by using the Apostles. both the Catholic and Orthodox church homes declare to be the unique, authentic Church. Protestant church homes declare they're extra scriptually depending and subsequently superb, and the Non-denominational church homes declare to be Christian purely and are not in touch with differentiations - which matches antagonistic to what Christ needed - and so are superb. that is the reason individuals of any of those church homes would have resentment for one yet another - they believe they have the unique actuality. in my opinion (i'm a Protestant), i believe we would want to continually be tolerant of those transformations and in simple terms call ourselves Christians (followers of Christ). God created range and people are diverse. i'd question Christians who've resentment for different Christians. It doesn't sound like a fruit of the spirit. A Christian is a Christian because they deny themselves and keep on with Christ - not with the aid of Church they attend (and/or the rituals they carry out!). So the question is truly why carry out slightly people resent people? accordingly because people have a distinction of opinion (and that's one of those passionate subject for Christians, which could convey about resentment)

I have no idea, but those who feel resentment towards anybody for that matter aren't christians because that's not waht christianity is all about in the contrary, Jesus Christ said to love one another. But we are humans so we do make mistakes.
