Could this be the reason why she snores? She isn't sick or anything, but when I look at her throat it seems like her tonsils are bigger than normal. Should I be worried about that?

I noticed her sleeping pattern because she was sleeping right beside me one night. I don't think she is getting a good sleep because she tosses and turns and her snoring interrupts her sleep. I am taking her to the doctor so that I can get a referral for an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist. Thanks for all of the advice!!

Okay, first off, she probably snores because her adenoids are probably big. My son had the same problem. His tonsils were always huge, he snored, and had sleep apnea because of the snoring. I took him to an ENT and looked in my sons nose with a long camera thingy and told me my sons adenoids were so big they were blocking his airways. If I were you, I would watch for sleep apnea.. like does she stpo breathing for a few seconds and start up again heavily.
I wouldn't be worried because nothing can happen. I mean, I supose it can, but it's highly unlikely. Take ehr to an ENT and explain everything.
If her adenoids are huge, the doctor will probably want to take them out which is the best thing to do. My son had that as well and I worried myself sick and it was no big deal. He was done within 45 minutes and he hasnt snored since!
Good luck and I hope everything is okay. Please keep us updated.

If they are not infected then no. Mine are big and I'm 37 and just fine. My daughter is 8 and had huge tonsils, snored at night, so I took her to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor who recommended I remove them and the adenoids. I did it and my daughter still snores. It really helped nothing and the 7 day recovery from the surgery was really bad for my daughter too. If I could do it all over again, I would leave them in. They are part of the lymphatic system and help her immune system.

They might be. At her next physical, bring it up to her pediatrician. If the doc thinks so, you'll be routed to an Ear, nose, & throat (ENT) specialist.
My daughter's tonsils & adenoids were so large at the age of 3, they were as large as an adult man's. She snored a lot, and couldn't eat & breathe at the same time. I didn't mind the snoring, but was concerned about her not wanting to eat very much.
Her adenoids & tonsils were removed, and granted she is still a very picky eater - she doesn't have the problems that she had before.
My rule of thumb is this: A mother's true intuition is rarely wrong. If you think something is wrong with the love of your life, it's better to ask than not to ask. And the doctor will gladly help.

I'd ask a doctor. However, I got my tonsils out when I was 21 (few years ago) and it was necessary because they were always getting infected and had absessed. I snored before I got them out but afterwards, I didn't snore.

My daughter was born with one enlarged tonsil. And she snores. When she was younger, she had terrible sore throats. I couldn't find a doctor to take them out. I was told that as long as she could swallow and breathe, that it was best to leave them in.

It could be part of the problem.I got mine removed and I don't snore anymore. When she gets older she could get sore throat like I did.
