Legal immigrants do not need amnesty
Illegal imagrants should not be given amnesty
To give amnesty to the illegal imigrants would be a slap in the face to all the ones that did it the right way

You Can Forget Any Amnesty Talks Till The Border Is Secure
That Will Take 3 - 5 Years
Till Then You're All Still ILLEGAL Aliens
And Are Subject To Deportation
If Anyone Hasn't Noticed
The Current Laws Are Beginning To Get Enforced
The ILLEGAL Aliens Are Being Deported In Record Numbers
Employers Are Starting To Fire ILLEGAL Aliens
Landlords Are Not Renting To ILLEGAL Aliens
The Day Labor Centers Are Being Closed Down
Over The Next Two-Three Years
You Will See Significant Changes
There Will Be No Amnesty Or "Path To Citizenship"
The Voice Of WE THE PEOPLE Is Being Heard
I Got An Idea
Why Don't You All Have Another One Of Those
Nationwide, Mexican Flag Waving Days
That Sure Helped You Alot, Didn't It??

Legal immigrants are okay, I wish people would call it like it is.
Illegals do not need amnesty, nor should they be given it. They broke the law to get here ahead of people who waited YEARS to come here for a better life. We gave amnesty to 3 million illegals in 1986, at least three of those given amnesty were involved in September 11th. Now, 20 years later we face 12 to 20 million more people, so clearly rewarding people for breaking our laws does not work. Can you vouch for the character of millions of people? No, you can not. No one can. Do you let people into your home when you do not know who they are? No, they may be nice, but there is an equal chance they will harm you.
Furthermore, I know it seems like America has so much of everything, but controlled immigration also helps insure there is enough for all in this country. If we grant amnesty to all, we will soon be just like the countries they were fleeing. I could go on and on, but instead I want you to look at these sites and read, and find out if YOU think amnesty is a good or bad thing.

Complete unconditional amnesty should not be granted to illegal immigrants. That does nothing but validate their breaking of the law and encourage further illegal immigration.
But, there are about 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States right now. It's simply not practical to deport them. They should face some penalties for breaking the law, like anyone else does, and should be offered a path to become legal. Whether or not that counts as "amnesty," I think, depends on what side you're on.

first they are not immigrant, that is the first problem, you are giving them a "status" and some right. They are illegal aliens.
But if the US could and would actually seal the border, I would be ok with a system where they have a program to earn citizenship .

No, but really, no one is offering amnesty. Take another look at the Senate's proposal. I welcome amensty or the Senate proposal. But they need to add the option of permanent residency that does not require people to learn English. That is my opinion.

It is wrong to reward ILLEGAL CRIMINALS for breaking our laws. Refer back to JD's answer. He said it real well. Disrespecting our country and our beautiful flag sure helped your cause, huh? That was sooooo stupid!! The imbeciles who did that hurt you much more than it helped.

YES amnesty is wrong. Why would you want to go rewarding a bunch of criminals for breaking our laws?
