Get out your phone book and in the White pages look up Avon, for your local Avon rep. Avon's Skin So Soft, original scent is an old time favorite insect repellant. Take a paper town, dribble some SSS on the papaer towel rub the towel all over your dogs fur and he will be "fly" free! It is non-toxic and so you needn't have to worry, It also helps repell mosquitoes from you as well. Spray it on, there is the regular bath oil I mentioned above that works best. But any Original Scent SSS products, shower gels, body lotions, hand creams all contain the "scent" that insects hate. Avon has been around since the late 1800's! The SSS Original Scent products have been known around the world for years. I even took my supply on Safari with me to Kenya Africa. I never got a mosquito bite! Works wonders! Go for it, and your dog will smell good too!

I always used Avon Skin So Soft. At the feed store you can get this salve called Corona which is good for fly bites and such on their ears. Make sure you clean up your yard really good so that the flys won't breed there.

Keep your dog and its surroundings as clean as possible. I have an outside dog and she is never bothered by flies and gnats.
