I'm 55 years old. I quit school when I was 16. At the age of 39 I went to get my GED. They tested me first to see where I was at. I was at a 3rd grade math level. They said I needed the full course that they give you before going for the test. I said I wanted my GED in a month because I wanted to start Cosmetology/Hairdressing school in the fall. They told me it was impossible. I got GED books and studied every waking hour and spent half the time crying because it was so hard for me to comprehend. Well I DID pass the test a month later to my surprise and I am now a Cosmetologist/Hairdresser.
