It was a matter of survival. Many people and organizations did things during WWII in order to survive. Look at the cooperation provided to the Nazis by the Swedes in looting Jewish money. One could argue that it was for the greater good of mankind. The church also became involved with an organization called P2 claiming to be a Masonic Lodge in Italy(P2 had been dissassociated from the real lodge and wasn't really a Masonic Lodge) and a few murders and some money movements and pay offs.

I'm not Catholic but it seems that the church has done infinitley more good things for the human race than bad things and the world is much better off because it exists.

No offence lady but you seem to have some real issues to want to attack the Catholic Church Established by Jesus Christ. I believe, rather then giving you a long... history lesson that you should read from CATHOLIC sources as well as satanic and protostant sites that will always attack the Catholic church and brain wash people like yourself into believing lies and heresy.

I personally believe that you feel threatened by the Catholic church. Look at the present facts lady... The Catholic Church does more charity then any other organisation in the world. You will always find the Catholic Church present in the most poorest and forsaken of countries trying to help with food aid etc. Look up the work of Catholic agencies such as CAFOD.

I don't understand why you have so much hate in your heart towards the Catholic church. The Catholic church was established by Jesus 2000 years ago. Please do read books and look at Catholic Internet sites that are written and presented by Catholics. Of course if you look at Protestant or satanic sites that are against the Catholic church you will find more lies and exaggerations, half-truths etc.

If people can claim that the Gospel of Barnabas was dated somewhere between the 1sr and 2nd century to prove that Jesus was not a God though proofs show that it was a work of self proclaimed scholars of the 14th century (Medieval period), what more can we expect? Claims that the Vatican took part in the killings in Yugoslavia in WWII is nothing really new. When John farts aloud and looks towards the direction of the pope, suspiciously gullible eyes follow and the pope suddenly become the culprit. John squeezed the trigger and the Vatican killed the man.

I read a little from the link you provided, mostly about the author.

I find it rather amusing that it says about the author that

"He was jailed in Italy for refusing to serve in the Fascist dictator Mussolini's army. While imprisoned in the Alps he wrote his first book on astronomy."

yet in the very next sentence it states

"During the war, Mr. Manhattan operated a radio station called Radio Freedom broadcasting to the partisans in occupied Europe."

Interesting that this article refers to his first book

"The Rumbling of the Apocalypse, Airoldi, 1934"

written before WWII.

And I was also wondering about how he was "allowed" to operate a radio station broadcasting to partisans while he was in prison for refusing to serve in the Italian army.

You need to be a little more selective from what you read. Just because it is in print, doesn't mean that it is a "complete" truth. In 200 years they will be saying the same things about "The Da Vinci Code".
