I've read a bit about what may be causing my insomnia. Possibly from predisposing factors: built in characteristics of a person that makes them vernerable...i.e. tense or driven people whose heads are filled with plans or worries. Or precipitating factors that I have dealt with, like stress of increases of responsibilities or alteration of schedule from a change of shift at work (very often). Then on the other hand, there are times I feel super exhausted and I feel I am sleeping too much, then I go and feel guilty about not getting everything done that I wanted to that day because I slept in. So my question is, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME AND WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE IT BETTER??? There are somethings I have no control of, like my work schedule, but what is there that I could do. Sometimes I wish I could live off of less sleep. IS THERE ANY TIPS ON LIVING DAILY OFF OF 5 HOURS OF SLEEP. This is my goal, but I just can't get up earlier sometimes. HOW CAN I MOTIVATE MYSELF TO GET UP???

I am not taking any sleep aids because this may cause a dependence. And I don't smoke or drink alcohol, (or any other drugs) so these factors cannot be causing my problems.

I also acknowledge that I am depressed but haven't had it clinically diagnosed. I am trying to avoid a doctor's visit, no insurance, no money.

I used to suffer from insomnia. I talked with the doctor I had at the time to tell him what was going on. He gave me an anti-depressant which also is good for helping those of us that have sleep troubles. I have now changed doctors & she has changed my prescription to one that seems to be helping a lot better. The insomnia was always worse the first few days of my menstrual cycle. My suggestion would be to talk to your doctor-that's what they're there for. Good luck. :-)

I would check yourself out with a doctor, you symptoms sound similar to mine, although I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, but when I was younger my life was very busy and I had problems like you, get it checked before it gets too bad a doctor will help.
Good Luck

Sounds like you may be depressed; talk to your doctor. Or lay off the drugs.
