According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Adrenaline is one sure way to do this. If hating yourself causes a release of adreneline or cortisol (another adrenal chemical - to handle stress), then low blood sugar is probably the cause.

Suggestion? The next time you catch yourself thinking bad thoughts about yourself, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something else for 30 minutes, something active, like walking or singing or dancing. You may find you can quit thinking the bad thoughts.

If you need help re-programming yourself to think good thoughts about yourself, start a journal. Write down 3 statements each day that are true about you, that are wholely positive, and that are about things that you are, or things that you can do. Such as - I can read. I am a helpful person. I can change the oil in a car's engine. (These are true - about me.) Try to write down 3 new things each day - but if you can't think of anything new, re-read your prior pages and write ones you have already written. It works.

Chronic low blood sugar can also cause self-esteem problems, anger management problems and a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.

There must be a good reseason why your saying this, is it because someone you love or care for tells you something about
yourself to make you think this way? If that's the case ignore
the stupidity and love yourself for who you are cause there's no one like you. Be proud, keep your head up and show everyone your somebody. Keep yourself in a positive mode, never think negative. Do or go out with your friends. Dress to impress yourself before you impress others.

... you care enough about yourself to ask this question.... as you get older you hopfully will start to appreiciate the things about yoursefl that make you diffrent.. those are the things that make you special... i'm guessing most people hate themselfves or things about themselves to 1 degree or another... i know i do[hate plenty about myself] ..just look at my face.. do i LOOK like a "happy camper"... there are usually things you can change if you realy want to work at it , other things you cant... know the diffrence.. the work on accepting the things you cant change and let others hate you for that if they want ..lol.. screw them.. , be who you are... do things that are kind and charitable , help out those who need it and dont even look for thanks... you'll start or at least should feel good about yourself for that.
