I am thinking of moving to Florida. I would love to be in a city that is near an airport, has some culture and diveristy, not too far from water, but is not in some of the Hurricane prone areas (for example, Miami).

All of Florida is prone to hurricane activity. I used to live there. They all get it at one point or another.

Try Lake Mary/Sanford area. There is a lot of historical landmarks in Sanford. There is an airport very close by and the beach is only about 20-30 minutes away. We got hit by a little bit of the hurricane but it wasn't so bad at all. Not a lot of damage around here. And it's not far from Orlando which has all your major nightclubs and blah blah blah. And Disney. Lol. And all the restaurants and hotels and tons of things to do there. And also sporting events.

Dude, there are worse things than hurricanes. If you are 20 and single there is no better place to be in Florida than Miami.

Take a trip down to South Beach sometime, you'll see what I mean.

Sorry to tell you, but if you live in Florida you have a chance of being involved in a hurricane. With that said, don't let that stop you from moving if you really want to live in FL. You can't live your life worrying about what "might" happen.
