You'd be surprised. While, yes, there are individuals among our sect who are hateful and ignorant, these individuals are not the majority. I, myself have no hatred for ANY religion, but I do have some hard feelings towards those who kill or otherwise harm others in the name of their religion. Mormons included.
And, sorry If i offend anyone, I think that most other christian sects are either frightened by us, or otherwise consider us a threat. not that I care though.
Also, I would like to say that we beleive everything in the bible. we're not against it. in fact, we spend two years in high school getting up at 5 AM every school day to go to a class that teaches us about either the old or new testament. (I should know. I'm in the middle of doing it)
Of course, I doubt that any of you hard-core anti-mormons really care at all. it's kind of funny how people nowadays spread hate by saying that others hate.
also, Joseph smith was never a rascist. in fact, the church was never rascist. in truth, a man was baptising a black man in a pond that did not have the authority to do so. in truth, it's pretty much a misunderstanding that people took the wrong way until it was remedied in the 1900's. Many of you have said to study the bible. I have. I am now. and every time I pray I feel the spirit telling me that what I know to be true, IS. It's indescribable. the burnign in your bosom is only the half of it. It also comes with a sudden, undescribable knowledge that what you've just read or heard is true. All you people who are telling us to look at ourselves from your perspective, give us the courtesy of doing the same. I'm not telling you to join our religion, I'm not saying that you're wrong.
I know that you have truth, because truth is truth, no matter where you get it from. christ is our savior whether you read it in the Bible or the Book of Mormon.

I like the people, in more ways we are alike than not. Its just the part that they never let up knocking on my door. And its always two guys that look like Jake and Elwood from the Blues Brothers. I just think they should pass the word to each other I'm not interested and lighten up. I read this... although missionaries still do not go out in search of black converts, Blacks nowadays can hold the priesthood if they desire. The head of the Mormon church -- the "Chief Seer and Revelator" -- a few years ago got a message direct from his god to change this policy. The change came just in the nick of time, too, since civil rights legislation was making it harder for racist organizations to feed at the federal money-trough.
I must admit Joseph Smith Jr. had some pretty wild ideas of what God was saying to him but so did a lot of others. Maybe its just because he was so recent in history and most people are set in their ways. Also personally I don't like how the men think they are so in control of the women. And the women don't mind.

As a group, Mormons are very nice people. I have many LDS friends, and at one time participated, unfortunately, like any group that subscribes to certain believes, they feed off of each other. Young Mormon children are told by their parents to get up in front of the congregation during fast and testimony meetings and give their testimony of the truth of the church. How would a seven or eight year old be able to judge? It's called brain washing. You probably have first hand knowledge.
You may believe anything you want, but put some effort into studding the early history of the LDS Church. Joseph Smith was not the innocent young man that spoke with God in a grove of trees. His early history is made up of ridiculous things like dowsing for treasure in the hills of upstate New York. (At one point he was arrested and fined for this).
As to the early witnesses, if you do the research, you will find that not one of them actually saw the golden plates. Yes they saw a box that supposedly contained them, or saw Joseph looking into a hat to translate them. In addition there is not a single shred of archaeological evidence ever found to support the Book of Mormon. And don't believe that the ancient South American Indians, Mayas, Olmecs and others had anything to do with ancient Israel, not a shred of scientific evidence. The book of Mormon mentions steel, horses, the wheel, wheat, written language and more, extant in ancient America. None of these things existed in the Americas prior to the Europeans coming to the New World.
Just so you will know Joseph's translation of the papyrus that are the basis of the Book of Abraham is proved absolutely wrong. The original papyrus sheets still exist, with his notes in the margins. The papyruses are copies of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, a common artifact found in many mummy cases in Egypt. These writings have nothing whatsoever to do with Abraham.
I could go on for hours, but you need to explore for yourself. Investigate what you believe, don't just belong to something because your parents and friends do.

I live in a very Mormon area, but I am not Mormon. I am a protestant Christian. I think Mormons are some of the sweetest, kindest, most God loving people. But we are very different. Many of the Mormons I know try to push Mormonism on others (just like Christians are accused of doing), but they do it because when something is a part of you, when you love something... or someone you want others to be happy like you feel. Yes, and like others have said I disagree with a lot of what Mormons believe, but religion doesn't determine whether or not you get into heaven it's a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that does. I personally believe that anyone who believes in Christ will be saved. So if you do, and I do we will both be in heaven and I hope to see you there! Much love! And I know what that hatred feels like.....

the LDS faith has alot of areas that are difficult to understand and people tend to jump to conclusions. People get hurt by people, and religions can be judged by the people that are of that particular religion. many people are not going to research a religion before judging it. It is not in most peoples character, people are quick to judge.
I hope that you live your life, by what you find to be true and be a person that people will look at and say that you belong to that church and that you try to be a good person. There may be some that may ask you why you do as you do. Example is a good way to teach someone.
Also realize that there are many that don't really have a belief system or at least a strong one. Be happy that you seem to.

The Moron, er, Mormon Church is built on a foundation of big, fat lies, even bigger and fatter than the lies every other Christian sect is built upon. I guess that makes it especially ironic that of all the Christian sects, I've found Mormons to be way more likely to practice what they preach than any other kind of Christian. Christians, being a jealous, petty, and altogether retarded sort, don't like it when folks do a better job at being sanctimonious than they do. Therefore, they claim you people aren't really Christian, LDS is a wife swapping cult, etc. Of course, all Christian sects claim to be superior to all others, so don't feel so put out. Maybe if you folks were less happy, friendly, and family-oriented, other Christians wouldn't be so jealous of you and they'd spend less time putting your church down.

your wrong its a false religion and enslaves the souls of their followers. If you really want to know the truth begin to do research from outside your religious group. I am sure that all you have read about mormons was give to you by your religious leaders. to find the truth you need to get out side of Utah and your religious group. they are not Christians. the reason is they believe to many things that are not in the New Testament. to be a Christian Church means to follow the teaching of Christ not just to use His Name.
Again ask God to open your eyes as you study and compare what your religion teaches and what the Bible teaches. Look at material from out side your religion.

Just because a church of any kind puts Jesus Christ in its title, does not make it a christian church.
Jesus never taught that there was ever more than one GOD
Jesus never taught that we would become GOD, Jesus said we are GODs children and will become the bride, not GOD
You are taught that you are to bear children in this life and then bear a whole lot more if your husband allows you come with him to populate his new planet when he becomes a GOD. None of this is Jesus teachings, therefore not Jesus CHRISTians.

You know your faith to be true and so does everyone else with theirs. Fair enough.
I have been pestered by mormon missionaries overseas and just do not appreciate being proselytised to. At first it was interesting to listen to them, but then they said: okay, no smoking, no coffee, no alcohol (don't drink it anyway, but still) because the body is the temple of god. Next visit, they brought an obese lady along and I asked what the rules are re overeating. Okay, maybe that wasn't polite but it pointed out how arbitrary the rules of the faith are. If the body is the temple of god, surely overeating should be forbidden.

The Bible said to beware of later prophets (false prophets), and that God lives in everyone in the form of your conscience. That being said, you could come to believe that we are all enlightened, we just need to listen.
My concience tells me that Joseph Smith is a false prophet and like the Bible said, he is the prophet for a false Christ, and worships a false God.
Joseph+LDS church = Anti Christ
