All they would have to do is be saved. Yep they could go to heaven...

I find this to be a funny thing. No matter how badly you sin or how often all you have to do is take Jesus Christ as your savior and be saved, and boom, your forgiven!

It is true that in the Christian belief system a person can change their eternal destiny by accepting Jesus into their life. The question is what does the term "accepting Jesus" mean. In the Christian worldview, accepting Jesus means having a personal relationship with him. It does not mean merely accepting him as an historical figure or calling out to him apart from genuine faith. If Ken Lay, Jeff Dahmer or Hitler had genuine faith then yes, they would be in Heaven. But, if they had genuine faith, there would likely be some sort of change in their life due to their faith.

According to the Bible, all sin is punishable by death...ALL sin. Yes, some sins are worse than others, especially sinning against the Holy Spirit, which is unforgiveable. But according to the Christian faith, all sinners who call upon the Lord in repentance are able to be saved.
Now, tell me...who are we to disagree? It's God's rules, and He is the only righteous judge...He's GOD.

As for being a Bible thumper, I don't thump people with the Bible, I just try to answer their questions...like this one that you just asked.

Accepting Jesus is not really just saying "I am Christian"
Jesus had teachings as well, and none of his teachings were applied in Hitler's life. If you are a Muslim, Do you eat Pork? Probably not. That makes you a good follower of your religion. Hitler was not religious. He did not follow his religion of forgiveness, or love, and Jesus was the lover of anything alive, everybody deserved mercy. Hitler was executing his own countrymen if they had a physical flaw. How about some history books?

I am a Christian who lives according to the word of God the best I can. If you want to use that bible thumber term it does not offend me. What you said about dahmer and hitler being in heaven is a lie. They belong in hell right where they are, for the acts they did to others. They were acts of the devil and they were not Christians. By your question you asked, you appear to feel threatened by Christans and Christanity, or you would not have asked such a stupid question.

A bible thumper, thats priceless. You must be a product of the public educational system to make such an irreverant statement. Quick little lesson for you, break one of the ten commandments no go to heaven. I have to disagree.

Yes, they could be if they really meant it in their hearts, and only God knows that. (Read Matthew 20:1-16) It may not seem fair to those who have always tried to do what's right and follow God's rules, but it is His right to decide. I try to love all people and not judge them, but I do believe what the Bible says, and if that makes me a Bible thumper, then that's what I'll be.

i'm no longer christian, yet my mom became. To be christian for her became to act as Jesus Christ ought to act. the way you ought to judge someone like that to Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson and Hitler is previous lack of information, that is a pathetic attempt at an insult. I tutor regret for being rude, yet my mom became a real CHRISTIAN in each and every sense of the interest and to characterize that such terrible human beings are the authentic celebration of Christianity is out acceptable deplorable!

Hello brianna_the_... :)

I know Jeffery Dahmer asked Jesus into his heart, I am not sure about the other two.. :)

Yes, Jesus died for everyone and when one asks Jesus into their hearts, and they admit they are a sinner and ask the Lord for forgiveness, they will be saved.. :)

He was my brother in Christ..for he became a new creature in Christ.. :)

Jesus forgave Saul (Paul) who used to kill Christians, he was there when Stephen was stoned to death for not denying Jesus.. :)

It is man who has put a label on which sin is worse than another, but God said a liar is the same as a murderer in His eyes..in other words, sin is sin..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

If they truely repent of their sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour then yes they will be in Heaven.

Now please tell me why being a Bible Thumper is as you put it so bad?

I look to my Heavenly Father everyday for guidance. He is my Father and my guide. He talks to me through his word. I learn from the examples, etc. that I find there.

Would you rather I check the newspapers, horiscopes, etc.?

I have a personal relationship with God. It is based on love and communication with him. If that is a fault in your book - so-be-it!

Kathy
