In the 1920 and 1930 federal census, there is a family by that name. There are also WW I draft cards for them. They are from Greece.

It is of Mediterrainian origin(dont know if i spelled it correctly) It could be Greek or Italian. I am leaning toward Italian. The always end their names with vowels/
