Just need an endorsement on a regular private license. doesnt even require a test anymore.
If you want to know about duration and distance because you want one, I think you should go for an ultralight experimantal instead. you dont need a tow plane, and you dont need a license, or faa approval. They are alot more fun than gliders too, but much less challenging.
