The most important things about controlling weight are as follows. DO NOT drink or eat anything with aspartame in it. Aspartame is poisonous and makes your body crave sugar. Make sure you get a moderate amount of fat in your diet, but limit carbohydrates somewhat and eat more protein. Weight training will build muscle, which will burn fat 24/7. Always consume some protein after working out so your muscles can rebuild. Don't be afraid of building muscle; if you are a woman, you won't look really muscular until you have done a LOT of it. The most effective way to build muscle is to use a heavier weight when lowering the weight; you can do this with a partner or the life circuit machines. Use the heaviest weight you reasonably can, and do one set. If you do it right, that's all you will be able to do. A set is 10 to 12 reps. Keep your wrists straight. Raise to a count of two seconds and lower to a count of four. Eat well when you first get up, and make your last meal of the day several hours before bedtime. Stay away from canola oil, and eat things like olive oil. Make sure you are getting enough essential fatty acids. Don't go for lowfat products; if you don't get enough fat, your body will think you are starving it, and it will cling to fat. Also, if you don't get enough fat, your body won't be able to make the necessary hormones. Don't indulge in fads, either. Most of the fads are detrimental. If you are a vegetarian, give some serious thought to eating some animal protein. We aren't designed to be vegetarian, and I have seen that it can lead to abnormal weight, both too much and too little. Good luck. It probably isn't realistic to try to lose that much in a month. Look at it more long term.

5-10 lbs. is a more realistic goal, although your weight is within normal limits. I can empathize, mine is also, but there are some "poochy" areas I would like to shed. Usual advice--lean protein, such as fish, boneless/skinless chicken, lots of green veggies and fruit, whole grains, skim milk. Stay away from empty calories like soda and candy, avoid fat. Exercise!!! And as for the thigh thing--people have different bodies, and some women just have bigger thighs (and hips). But, look into weight training. Build muscle, lose fat, will help.

Girl, I'm also 5'1" and I would kill to be at your weight. I am over 125 libs. (Thanks to having 2 kids) losing 10-15 lbs. would make you underweight. You are actually at a good weight. I wouldn't try to lose any of it. Just maybe work out to tone your body. Don't be like these celebs that are anorexic looking. You probably look a hell of a lot better than you think!

Sweetie if you're a girl your size is perfect for your height...haven't you seen the magazine covers, skin & bones, are not sexy nor beautiful...try some squats to firm up the existing muscles in your thighs, if you feel necessary....good luck
