And furthermore...if you apply the same criteria by which you DISMISS other religions to your own religion would it hold up to your own criticisms?
Consider: Demographically speaking, 99.7% of peoples religious choice is based on where they grow up. You think its the correct religion because thats what your mommy told you, and throughout your life you judge every fact based on what you think you already know (i.e., what your mommy told you).
Everyone should just start over...wipe the slate clean, study all the religions, and make a choice based on LOGIC.

a while back i took a class in chicano history and a prfesor made an interesting point that made me think. When the spanish conquistadors came to the americas it was easy for them to covert the native (if you don't count all of the wars) because the natives could see their gods in the christian god, the vigin mary, jesus christ, the holy spirit, all of the angels, and how many saints do we have... hahaha well... who is to say that all of those gods and entities are not the same just with different names... sure they all gods and religions have their differences but they also have many things that link them if you really think about it... why cant it be that they are all the same but are known by different names because we were all raised in different parts of the worl... since our languages were different why can't we asume that we also gave our gods different names... its kind of weird to explain and i guess if you really wanted to hear more you would have to ask me personally meeee_3... an i'm not saying that i'm right or any thing like that but what if that was the case...

God is the cause of all things. He was the origin of everything. Through Jesus, God expressed himself as an image of man. It was for this reason that Christianity thrived and became the world's religion. It was just sad that some Rulers and Popes were not good that cause some bad aspects of Christianity. Anyway, God is good and is the only Supernatural Being.

Christianity is faulty for thinking that their God is the only and right God. All of these different perceptions of God all over the world in various religions are just the many different "faces/forms/aspects/personalities" of God. Think of God like an Ocean of Consciousness and these differences are like the beaches, no two beaches are alike but yet are connected to the same ocean.
All rivers but lead to the same ocean.

I guess my response to this would be, "Why does it matter?"
We can logically deduce the existence of some Higher Power: there must be a First Cause. We cannot know with certainty, however, the identity of this Higher Power. Anything beyond the claim of existence is a matter of faith.
For me, it is enough to know that there is, in fact, a Higher Power in existence. Whether it be God, or multiple gods, or simply an essence, I know not, no more than I know anything about "God's" interest in cavier and games of cricket. For me, it is also inconsequential: should this Higher Power be good (and I do believe that it is), then my spiritual fate, along with everyone else's, should be entrusted in good hands, no belief required; and should it be evil and/or selfish, then it probably is not deserving of our reverence and worship.

The existence of many religions on earth testifies to the fact that there are many gods. Each religion claims that there God/gods are supreme over all others. My own personal conviction about this is that the gods are extraterrestrial space travelers who once came to earth many millions, even billions of years ago. They created all life on earth, including the human species. They also taught ancient man right ways of living, and to record what they taught us in writing, in holy scriptures. Seeing that man is nearing a crisis point of his evolution here on earth, and may be dangerously close to destroying all life on earth, perhaps the gods time of returning to earth is near. When they once again return, all things will be sorted out, and all truth revealed to those who remain alive. Until then it's chaos and confusion.

That's a great question, it's like the ice cream isle at the store. So many choices but which one will really satisfy? Which one will we have no regrets over? We maybe not quite so simple. All I can say is think for yourself and be brutally honest about what you heart is hungering for. When you find yourself looking through blurry tears let your heart believe and the real God will show himself.

The Christian God is the real God.
There are elements of truth in all religions, but Jesus is the clearest (and highest) revelation of God.
Our background is not the only factor that defines our God.
Many individuals from a variety of worldviews and religions are committing their lives to Christ. E.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/00.html
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Cordially,
John

there is only ONE god. and I can see some mislead souls here that are very blind to the crap. somebody said that jeus prayed to god. i thought jesus was god? christians just look at it for one second. if you pray to god doesnt that mean you are praying to jesus, but i thought jesus was gods son, and a holy spirit. So Jesus is from Arkansas, what an insult to the man. please leave jesus, 2 pac, and elvis alone.
