Secular history bears witness to the fact that he was a real person.
The most famous?
Probably,
The calendar is based on his birth, major worldwide holidays are based on aspects of his life, and he plays a major role in the worlds big 3 general religions.

He must be otherwise there wouldnt be so many people trying to prove he isnt the christ. There wouldnt be so many religions trying to prove he's just a man. Da Vinci Code wouldnt be so controversial. By the way, the bible says jesus was pure and that meant not having been with a woman in order to be the perfect sacrifice.

Go to a place with few Christians, say China or India, who also between the two of them about a third of the world's population, and ask that question. Show a "picture" of him. Then Show a picture of George Clooney. Guess which one is more likely to be recognized.

i think he is the most famous religious figure of all time, shortly followed by Buddha.
but like many people said The Beatles because one time, my idol, John Lennon said at a press conference that "the beatles are bigger than Jesus Christ" the next day he publically apologized and said people took it differently that he meant it.

Jesus is the most talked about person who ever lived. Even now with all "codes" that are perpetrated by writers, he even became more famous with all people conversing about him.

Actually, it is more likely that Jesus is the most famous person who NEVER lived.
If he DID live, though... for both Jesus and Elvis, dying was a good career move.

If you're Christian than yes Jesus would be "famous"...However if you don't agree with the Christian view Jesus wouln't mean much now would he. For Muslim's it'd be Moahmmad...For Buddhists it'd be Buddah...For Hindus it'd be whom ever/what ever the primary deity is for them...Get my point. Fame is relative.

Yes, definitely, I mean most people (I would say at least 75%, but it could be more) have heard of jesus.
Id say God, but then all kind of religious peole would come in saying God's not a person, and how dare I and things like that.
