Can anyone think of a reason that god would create the human race? What was his motive? I'm assuming that God is perfectly happy and lacking in nothing. So often I hear my fellow christains tell me he was bored or lonely and what not, but that really does not jive with my idea of a perfect, all powerful being. I mean, who wants to believe in an emotional needy super being? I really don't want to think that God needs me to complete him in some way, or that God could possibly be more happy or content than he already is. and I know He isn't curious or anything because he knows everything that will ever happen. I don't want to debase my God by attributing these character flaws to Him, but at the same time it is hard for for to come up with an answer to the question 'why did God do all of this? To what end?' I can only think of it in human terms (i.e., why would I choose to create the universe) but I wonder if anyone has a more biblical explanation than that. Thanks and God Bless!

Even though God is complete and without need I guess He 'needed' to experience what He is rather than just know, who and what He/She is.
Through the Human race created in time He can now experience what LOVE is when lovers hug each other!
He can experience what JOY is when anyone of us is filled with happiness when a new baby is born!
The Human race is like God's senses and He experiences all His qualities and his true nature through us!!!

He didn't. All the Roman Gods, The Greek Gods, as well as the Christian God don't exist. The universe is what has always existed. If there are multiple universes, however, we may all be the result of some fifth grader's science project in a much larger universe. Think about it. Or it may have all been brought about by a Flying Spaghetti Monster!

Good evidence for arguements against the existance of God (if there is one). Man came up from the primoidial ooze that was chemically capable of pushing out life in all forms through a process and that process continues today. There is NO GOD. Humanity created God(s) to answer the questions that it's science couldn't and the concept of God continues in that role today as a fall back answer for questions like: Why are we here? or Why do we exist? PEACE!

Those perpetrating a god genetically altered human for the purpose of slavery. There are more technologically advanced races in the universe and finding a planet rich in natural resources gold for one is what they do. What they did is upgrade the humanoid before using their ability to manipulate DNA, the humanoid before us was genderless, so they split the humanoid created adam/males and eve/females, make a automatic slave producing unit added some of their own DNA into the mix and walla. So now you have smarter beings capable of living on their own, but how do you control these beings, you teach them lies of their existence and tell them that you are god. Brief history for ya, but it a different one then what you are told in school or in religion. You can dismiss the idea or research it further up to you but I will leave you with a video to help with. The reality of the situation is, that we are spirits playing a game, another spirit created this game in similar but of course more sophisticated fashion to some programmer and designers producing games for the XBOX, it's that simple, maybe hard to believe, but it's offers a different point of view.

God created human beings in His own image, so the bible says. God created human race to feel and experience joy and love. For love and joy can not be realised without an object partner to share it with. That joy and love can only be experienced when you have a child. Looking deeply into your child's eye and feeling the love and joy pounding inside of you. That's what God wanted to feel. And that's why He created the human race.

Your god, the god of materials (god that made the phsical/matter world), a lower aeon, was probably the most distant from the One, or the true AEon, My True GOD that emanated from GOD, made all the aeon like a tree that branches, and "fell" into another realm and created the matter world. From there all I know is evolution is creation and such was created.
Gnosticism is TRUTH.

Think of an 8-year old kid, kneeling over an ant hill with a magnifying glass, at high noon. If god exists, that pretty much desribes him.

Why do painters paint?
Why do carpenters build?
Why do runners run?
Why do creators create?
ITS WHAT THEY DO.
The fact that you don't want to think something means nothing.
By the way, don't think God is without emotion.
Check out Psalm 78:40
God has emotions.
He is not controlled by them, but he has them.
We're made in his image and we have them.
