It can be an infection or an allergy to something. I am glad that you are taking her to the vet tomorrow. The vet will probably give you eye drops or an antibiotic.
Maybe she scratched herself or got something in it.
Best wishes. Give your kitty a hug for me. :)

my two kittens had the same problem. the vet gave me some eye drops. everyone was telling me too put different stuff in their eyes so i called the vet to see if it was alright and they told me to never put anything in a cats eyes wiithout knowing whats wrong with it. it could be anything from a scratch to an upper respitory infection. DO NOT PUT NEOSPORIN IN A CATS EYE. also try a warm washcloth.

you can use neosporin on it until you get to the vet. it might help relieve some of the pain she may be feeling. My girlfriend tried to tell me it will make the cat go blind but my vet said that a lot of vets tell people that so they have to come in and pay for the meds. if it's a pink eye thing then it will still need to go in but just to help her for tonight you can use this.

Mine had the "second eyelid" inflamation...can you see like a fold of skin trying to cover they eye? If so, I understand its quite common...this eventually went away after about 3 weeks. Hers started out looking just like you described tho...she had it in both eyes... I did wash hers out every day though. (I don't know if this helped..it made me feel better..ok she hated it lol) If it is an infection, it will be goopy. She's also an inside cat. Good luck to ya both :)
You can research it under feline eye disease or feline eyes..I forget which I went to.

Well.... you need to think. The day before her eye was like this, do you know if she got hurt or did you see?
Well good luck and I hope she gets better!
