3 years ago I was attending college part-time. I worked full time and lived alone. My stepfather discovered he had cancer. I had to quit school and move home to help my mother take care of him. When I quit, it was in the final few weeks of school and I did not owe any money back. Now that he has passed away, I am thinking about going back to school, but I am afraid that I will not be able to get the funding that I need. Can anyone tell me if I can still get a grant?

You can definitely still be eligible for the pell grant. Fill out the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Basically, for the pell grant, your expected family contribution must be less than $5000. Even if it isn't, there are still many other types of financial aid out there. Check with your school's financial aid office to explore your options, but definitely fill out the fafsa.

Fill out the FAFSA!!

That's the only way to know for sure. But grants are based on financial need and academic performance. So if your income didn't go up a lot and your GPA didn't go down a lot, my guess is yes - you should still get one.
