there were two people who betrayed Jesus that night. one was Peter and one Judas. yes Judas was following God's plan, but God always gives us a way out. both these men were with Jesus and heard the same thing.
Peter repented and came back to Jesus, Judas hanged himself. we all have a choice to turn to God or go our own way.
God is in control, and once again, He Always gives us a way out.

God does have a plan for everybody, yeah, but some people turn away from the path God chose for them. I believe that what Judas did was supposed to happen, therefore that was his path.

if you read the gnostic gospels there is one written by judas himself. in it, judas is portrayed as the catalyst to christ's ultimate sacrifice. in other words, judas HAD TO turn christ over to pontius pilate so that christ could redeem the world through his death. it was all part of the divine plan so to speak. and judas was actually chosen to do this act above the other apostles. so if you follow this version of events then you are right; judas was only following god's plan. and he was not the traitor that the catholic gospels made him out to be.
