Hmmm, that's some really ify stuff there girl. Well, think about it this way. Turn the tables around. If the shoe was on the other foot, how would you feel if he started liking your best friend.
Personally, I stay away from situations like this becaue I prefer a drama free lifestyle. But if you want to go for it anyway I'd suggest you and your ex have an open, honest, mature conversation about this first. He may or may not mind. The only way you're going to know either way is if you ask him love.
Best of luck. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Is is a very complicated situation you would be getting yourself into if you did. For one thing, no matter how you get together, it will always be in your ex's mind that his best friend was gunning for you the whole time, and that you've both betrayed him (I doubt he thinks this now since it sounded like you were on friendly terms with him during the festival). I say, either don't do it, or if you can, talk to your ex and tell him that you've only recently started feeling like this for his friend. Don't ask permission, because it is your life, but do be foreward about it, hiding will only make it worse.

I don't know what to say although if I were you, I would not date 'cause I'd rather sacrifice my love because it will create a bad opinion about you and your ex might create rumours and there may be hassles. So, I'd rather recommend you not to. But there's nothing wrong in taking the risk.

Lots of people meet that way. If you like him, be sure to get to know him well, as a friend, before you start anything serious. Good luck; you sound like a smart girl.

Decide for yourself. Whatever feels right to you and it is EX so... go for it if you like him. If it is just a little "Thing" wait and see what developes.

it depends on their relationship and how you feel about it.
if they have a solid friendship, it won't matter, especially if your ex is fairly matured about the breakup.
sometimes people just don't match up -- how did he handle the breakup?
