she is most likley not going because she is at her dads and not comfortable apple juice does work but being at home she should go. My 2 year old went to NC for a week and didn't go the whole time until the ride home some kids are just like that my son was the same way just not comfortable. I wouldn't worry too much.

Rasins. Boil a handful in water and make your baby have that water through the day. The water will taste sweet so she will like to drink it and rasins are a natural cure for constipation. I do it all the time.As she is only 19 months old she may not chew them properly if you give them to her to munch and if she swallows them whole she may get a pain in her stomach. Also, try one or two prunes that too will help but please do not give every thing together or the poor girl will have loose motions.
May be she did not drink enough water at her dad's. Lack of water is also a cause of constipation.
My experience with apples has been that they cause constipation. My doctor always advices me to feed apples to the kids when they have loose motions so i am not really in favour of apples. Also, after your daughter's stomach settles do get her into the habit of eating a banana after lunch daily. (NEVER in the evening as that Does sometimes aggrivate a cold)

I have a 21 month old and just experienced this very thing. Here i what my pediatrician told me:
First, limit all diary. Including milk, cheese, and yogurt. (Not eliminate, limit. For example, no more than 8-12oz. of milk a day).
Second, start giving prune juice (mixed with apple or grape if they wont drink it straight), but you need to give them 8-16oz per day for about 3 days.
Third, make sure they are getting plent of water. (Sounds like a no brainer, but I wasn't doing this with my daughter, and didn't realize it until the doc mentioned it). She should be getting 3-6 glasses (8oz.) per day (in addition to the prune juice). Sounds like a lot, but it does help.
Last and most important, increase her fiber. Good ideas are Raisin Bran cereal, granola, Kashi Go Crunch (and it actually tastes great) oatmeal or Oat Bran muffins (look in the baking aisle of your grocery store). Also any type of beans (my daughter happens to love refried beans, so that was nice!) but also lentils, and fruits (apples & pears, skin on if possible; strawberries, rasberries, rasins or prunes).
I started this about a month ago, and have seen a huge difference in her BM's. Good Luck!!

Many have come up with some good ideas. Like the apple juice and prune juice. One thing that I have always done with all of my 3 kids is give them a couple of ounces of camimeal tea. I used it on my son when he was only about 3 months old and it works. You could also try pedialite. Good Luck!!

probably a change of diet being with her daddy - you know more junk food than normal and no vegies etc. Anyway, weetbix for breakfast should help, sultanas, and a very ripe banana can also help. If she eats mushed up meals try adding a bit of bran and mixing it in. does she like very milky tea? 'cause that can help too. Try and get her to drink lots of water - i know kids dont like plain water much but add maybe a little juice or very weak cordial just to get her to drink it. If you are very worried then your pharmacist can give you something like coloxyl infant drops to help, put them in warm milk at bedtime - dont worry too much 3 days is not life threatening or anything but if it goes for a week then you may need medical advice

Everyone is right about the juice and the Karo syrup..plain sugar in a bottle of water will do the same thing as well...Sugar whether it be from fruit juice, corn syrup, or natural sugar ferments in the intestines and acts as a natural laxative...additionally you will want to keep her away from anything too binding like banana and rice...

apple juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of kayro syrup or mineral oil. kayro syrup can be found in the baking section of the grocery store and mineral oil can be found where the drug and bath items are. when my sons get constipated i give them a couple of tablespoons of kayro syrup before bed and the next day they're back to normal. no messy accidents, it just get's everything flowing again. i've even used it, no discomfort.

just give her fiber. fruits and veggies, whole grains, sprinkle some wheat germ on her food. prune juice if you're really worried. and i wouldn't take her to the doctor unless it really becomes a problem and she's in pain but you can always call your doc and ask what to do. she might have just not wanted to poop away from home. my neice will NOT poop except at home. if they go on vacation she will hold it the whole time.
